So what did you figure out on this? I recently got a POD HD500X and am wondering the exact same thing. All I want is an easily switchable way to boost myself strictly for lead parts but I notice the "boost comp" just increases distortion. I tried just running a second "tube comp" but that doesn't seem to be ideal either. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
