  1. Hi guys, my helix native is rejected by the AU validation process under logic 10.2.2 DO you guys have any idea why?
  2. Hi guys, Just bought my license, 99 bucks because I own a hardware version, cool pricing! But sadly I dont manage to get it thru the AU validation process on logic 10.2.2 Anyone having similar problems?
  3. JTVs were pretty good value I think, I own both models and, with some mods they are very capable instruments... I upgraded the pickups and did a proper fret dress and setup on my 59 and did this on my 69: http://line6.com/support/topic/28305-modified-jtv69-with-fretlight-neck/ I kind of whish yamaha would install the variax electronics in something like their new RSP20CR: There is currently no hi end variax system, except from the obsolete and uber rare USA JTV, which was stupidly expensive, and not even made by Tyler... And I think it is not only a shame for the users but also a marketing error, no hi end model means few pro users, which decredibilises the product...
  4. Thanks! The pickups are a custom set from a local maker here in Belgium called Heartbreaker, basically they are 60's style strat single coils with a custom, paf style, humbucker. I highly recommend them to any JTV69 owners, they are a huge improvement over the originals and mix very well with the variax sounds...
  5. It would make total sense for the James Tyler branded variaxes to be discontinued, yamaha have been making quality instruments forever and have no reason to be associated with an american luthier for something that they can do on their own... I own two variaxes and love them very much, they are great tools, but I somehow feel that the system hasn't quite evolved at the same pace as other line 6 branded products... I am very much looking forward to the next evolution... :-)
  6. I would like to post some more pictures but is seems I am limited to 4 megs... :-/ http://www.snapagogo.com/image/Ly50z http://www.snapagogo.com/image/LybZs http://www.snapagogo.com/image/LyyIw http://www.snapagogo.com/image/LyAKX http://www.snapagogo.com/image/Lyh1T
  7. Hi Guys, Here is a little project I just finished... As you may know Optek, the company who makes the Fretlight guitars are really horrible people, their led system is totally incompatible with magnetic pickups: the multiplexed voltage system they use to save on wiring produces an unbearable whining noise interference when used in conjunction with ANY magnetics pickups. You would have thought, after 30 years of using that technology, that they would have produced a piezo equipped guitar but no, they prefer to keep on duping their customers as they have always done... Anyway, I still think it's a valuable learning tool for visually oriented people so I came up with this little idea: I started with a second hand JTV69, I fitted a second hand fretlight neck, not a straightforward swap, lots of routing involved here, I found a way to fit the fretlight electronics in the already busy variax body, upgraded the pickups, fitted a cool decal and presto, here is the FRETLIGHTVARIAXOCASTER! The neck was slightly reshaped and is actually very comfortable, a million times better than the original neck, and, to my surprise, the guitar sounds really, really good with the magnetic pickups, it is on par with the best superstrats out there, with the added bonus of the variax sounds... I researched the old interweb a bit before i did this and found no other mention of a similar project so this might be the only in existence :-) Let me know what you think, and I'd be happy to assist anyone embarking in a similar project!
  8. I bought one of the very first Helix floor, and while it was and still is a brilliant machine, the early firmware versions were far from perfect, perhaps line 6 is waiting for a relatively bug free version for their initial release... Bear in mind that the plugin version also concerns a different public, which might be more critical of an unfinished product. It is one thing to have to restart your processor because of a bug, it is quite different if your whole protools or logic session is screwed up because of a faulty pulgin... Whatever the reason for the delay is: dear Line 6, we have been waiting for almost six months now, please think of your loyal customers, we want the native plugin, pleaaaaase... :-)
