Thanks for the response, I have a black faced UX1. So do I want to get a second set of speakers or do you guys have a clever way to switch back and forth from sound card output to UX1?

So I picked up an used UX1, it is my first recording interface. The sole reason I bought it was to A)Record and B) Play through my computer speakers, I do not care about a single other feature it has to offer. Come to find out there is 5 different programs I need to download, licensing fees to pay, more cords to buy because the sound isn't transferred to my sound card via the USB cable, etc. For what I want to do, is this the piece of hardware for me? I can't figure out how to record a single sound. I've downloaded gearbox, pod farm, and monkey, each of which has it's own 100 page manual.
