Just wanted to put in a plug for creating an OD block emulating the Greer Lightspeed. For dialing in that gritty "edge of breakup" sound when you have to keep your amp volume tamed it excels.

I bought an HX Stomp to use primarily as an FX box thru a traditional tube amp. . . BUT . . . most of my gigs these days are an acoustic trio. The Stomp works great here too because it can load IR's that really improve the tone of acoustics. The POD Express would be cooler still due its portability and battery power. But it has no IR loading capability. It would be nice to add that OR create an additional "Amp" or "FX" group containing L6 designed acoustic "sweeteners" algong the line that Baggs and Fishman are putting in their outboard pedals. You could sell a ton of them to acoustic players.

Ever going to consider making HX Stomp capable of hosting VST's? Sooner or later (probably in the works now) somebody is going to come out with a small box like the Stomp that will run any VST you want to put in it (like Mainstage for Apple).

YES, YES, YES . . . sparkle is a good word for it. The Lightspeed is a tremendous low-med gain OD that I prefer to my Timmy and I wish L6 would consider a model of it. Also would love a good Plexi pedal . . . Carl Martin, JHS AT, SL Drive. . . any of those.

I'm considering using an HX Effects (or Stomp) for time based FX with a Kinglsey tube preamp. I would plan to use the HX post Kingsley (like being in the FX loop of an amp) and then feed directly to the FOH. Several questions: 1. What issue might I have with the output signal of the Kingsley into the front end of the HX? I know I can adjust the impedance, but is the signal too hot for the HX? If so, would a buffer pedal btw the two work? 2. Can the TRS balanced out(s) from HX go to directly to FOH or do I need a DI box? I've seen several credible YT vids that contend that while direct is considered good-to-go (balanced lowZ) in actuality a good DI box is recommended.

OK, so just use a DI that doubles as an IR host. Makes sense. Then again, RV also makes a good point. . . an $80 SM-57 makes for a pretty simple/good/cheap DI box. Thx all

I use an HX Stomp into a conventional 12" guitar cab powered by a class D amp. Simple, cheap, effective. Only use the Stomp for amp sim and a couple of time based FX when needed. If necessary I just mic the cab, but (provided adequate blocks and DSP) could I split the signal that goes out to the speaker cab to a parallel path, insert an IR and route to the FX Send and out to the PA?

I brought this up in the Firehawk thread and I know this has been discussed, but I'm going to bring it up again in hopes of getting some support for its incorporation. I use a Digitech Mosaic to get a reasonable live 12-string emulation. If you're in a cover band trying to make money (especially in the casinos with a Boomer crowd) you play Beatles, Byrds, Eagles, Tom Petty, etc. That means 12-string. Taking up room on your pedal board with a one-trick pony like the Mosaic when I already have a Line 6 M9 on board is a real aggravation. Can I get any love here???? Mike McLane

I had to buy a DigiTech Mosaic. Far from spot-on, but works great as a "get by" solution, especially playing live. Line 6 should definitely figure that one out (especially on the M series) cause anybody doing classic rock covers needs that sound and its a pain to have to spend the money and dedicate the pedal board space to such a specialized animal.

New here. Has anyone raised the subject of a preset librarian for iOS so you can assign/edit names to presets and trigger them via iPhone. They already have Midi Mobilizer and you can do this (and more) with Amplifi via bluetooth. Why can't we do it for our M series pedals?
