Wanted to post what worked for me, In sound playback properties set your default format to 16 bit 48000 DVD quality BUT...most importantly your USB device MUST be plugged directly into a USB 2.0 port (no hub and NOT 3.0) EVERY SINGLE OTHER CONFIG I tried was bunk, but this one is working ACES! ;)
