I don't see what's wrong with wanting to have a foot pedal use both systems so you don't have to have large foot switches in your play space. I'm not trying to combine them anymore than the foot switches can work for both, not screen or anything else like that.

Hey guys I'm not sure if this answered in the faq forum because I might not know the technical term. I just got my helix today and I'm trying to figure out my setup. I also have an axe fx 2 and I was wondering if I could use the helix as the foot switch when I want to use the axe fx, I'm sure all the fancy features wouldn't work and I'd only be able to use one or the other if it did work but just curious if anyone has any insight here :) Thx

Are there any more pickup models coming from Line6 for the Variax series? I really liked the workbench HD and it was able to get me something closer to what i'm used to. I primarily play death metal and i'm used to EMG/Seymour Duncan pickups. None of the pickups/guitar modeling comes close to the sounds except for the jazz and the pickups that come on the guitar (non-modeled pickups). I'm using an 89f... I have made it work with enough distortion, but i never have any need to use any of the pickup/guitar models. I primarily use it for the tuning switching... but i'd love to explore it some more....

damn, yeah i'll get it setup maybe its just an issue there... i hope :/ cuz right now it's amazing for *everything* except tapping for me... that or i just suck at tapping and i don't realize it :P

yeah for some reason its only if i'm like, holding 12th fret and tapping like 17th/19th/20th they go away. If i'm holding something like, 7th and tapping 14th/16th its fine. its only when i go really high. I hope there isn't anything wrong with getting thick gauge strings then? I just don't know how much of the variax is hardware dependent on the actual guitar.

I just got my Variax and i'm loving it but i definitely like the guitar tech i usually go to for my guitars set it up for me. Is there anything special they need to keep min mind when setting it up, especially with the Floyd Rose on it? Also, has anyone else been experiencing serious issues with finger tapping? I haven't updated the guitar or anything, so i'm not sure if that will fix it, but i'm tapping anything above the 12th fret the tapping just doesn't register. thanks
