  1. I want to thank line 6 gang for all your attention to questions etc. so I have two more -- a question and two requests: 1. How did you decide on the default numbers for the preset values for the amp settings i.e. Ideal or typical sound vs. random values? 2. Request 1: for amps without certain controls can you indicated that via graphics somehow -- i.e. Non master volume -- leave the master at 10 but highlight or italicizes the controls so we know that for the true sound we should leave it alone. 3.request 2: some additional written guide for dialing in some of the amps that we may not have as much experience with in real life. I know that a lot of it is just time and experimentation and personal taste but maybe some suggestions in written format would get people Going faster and also cut down on that component of learning curve -- probably get better reviews too as a newbie would get to the intended and likely better sound faster. This could be used for effects as well (i.e., sample settings with descriptions). While this does entail work my guess is writing a supplemental manual might take a lot less time than debugging and coding 😀 Thanks Howie
  2. Thanks! Actually I think that approach is better since many of us do come from the analog world. Again, props to the line 6 team for delivering an incredible product. Howie
  3. This question is for line 6 primarily. How close did you guys aim to get with the various pots and knobs on the simulations -- not sound wise but actual taper and position. So if I need to set my master volume to 3 to get full tone on a particular amp should I be doing the same on the helix model. As an example of a different approach on the axe fx the master has a fairly linear taper so that adjustments are easier to make. Thanks!
  4. i absolutely love my new helix! picked up through sweetwater. i have plenty of experience with real amps, real pedals and also own an axe fx ii. yes it is different than the axe -- but not in a better/worse sort of way. i love the ease of editing which was/is one of my biggest leaves about the axe; i am no longer tethered to my computer. i also have a built-in pedal board and 4 additional send/returns for any of my indispensable pedals as opposed to the one on the axe fx. i think tonally it does sound different -- but not inferior in any way -- it is much more of the miked sound. feel-wise i see little to no difference. so i would say big time win for line 6. i hope to see line 6 or some other company producing helix ir packs -- i would definitely be happy to spend for additional realistic cab tones -- which would only enhance the experience. howie
