woah...ok, that's good to know thanks... what is the HP out? So.. none of the effects,,etc. on the Cat 200... with 2 12" speakers have stereo functionality?
-
thx!! id like to get 2x12 powercab... or maybe just 2 head rush cabs? (not sure i can do that with only one xlr output) i was so dissapointed in the L6 PC 112 + how would i use an "IR loader" with the Catalyst amp?
-
This is very helpful, since i can essentially use another powered FRFR cab ... I wasn't a fan of the the L6 Powercab. Which one are you using? Can you recommend other good sounding powered cabs? Thanks
-
ok, so i can go from the xlr out on my catalyst 200 into an frfr speaker? does this bypass the catalyst speakers? will the amp function as normal, with the edit software, panel controls, etc... but audio will come from the FRFR cab? Thanks always for you help. much appreciated
-
I read somewhere that this is possible... if so, how and what kind of cab? thx
-
right, i apologize for creating confusion. that pic was just for demo. even when the app is connected to my PC... everything i mentioned above is happening. The amp knob on the left is never reflected in the preset window
-
i think you are getting it... but see pic... the knob is on "high gain" (amp isn't connected atm) however why doesn't is show the "high gain amp type" Oblivion and Badonk... it just shows either clarity or archetype clean.... regardless. when i load a new preset the name changes.... but what if i want to construct one from scratch? it would be great to see the amp type that i'm working with reflected up on top...
-
what i'm saying is that when i'm turning the knob in the catalast app... from clean, boutique, chime etc... the amp type at the top always says "clarity".. why doesn't it change the other voicings? how to a select one of the 12 amp types by name in the app?
-
when i'm in the Catalyst Edit app... why doesn't the "amp type" name change at the top? it just says the first amp in lineup: Archetype clean. how do i change amp types and see the current amp type reflect at the top?

WINDOWS 10 was a free update if i remember correctly?
-
this is great news ! i just upgraded my 60 to a 200 a few months ago as my main amp... this just adds alot more value. props to L6 for doing right by its customers.
-
you are correct, i was on that section, a few weeks back and downloaded around 47 tones, choosing from 8-10 pages. maybe we should contact support and get them to fix it. best.

ok, so those cab configs are only availble to me via line out... i thought the CAT was doing a "simulation" when i was playing through it straight... No i would not block the back entirely... just thinking about the aspect to add some more tightness to the bass... I've been breaking in the speakers lately with some heavy bass, tech/house music... I think alot of the complaints regarding the speaker (any speaker) can be addressed by a good break in... Thank you for all your help Nick

in the Direct out section... The cabinet modules are simulations correct? or are they outputs for physical cabs? What are your thoughts regarding "partially" closing the cab?

Thank you . would i be able to use the TONEX as my "amp (s), in the loop and use the CAT strictly as a power amp?
-
RE: ToneX in the loop.. connection-wise what does that look like? You're using the CATALYST as a power amp correct? Would it need to be in "loop mode" on a clean channel or as power amp? Woud you say the Tonex is a considerable improvement over the stock CATALYST tones? Thx

Is it safe to say that settings that affect other L6 products concerning things like SAG, Hum, BIAS, BIAS x follow this logic: Model Citizens » Blog Archive » Dave Hunter: What’s Behind the Sag, Bias, and Bias X Controls in Helix Amps? (line6.com) I know that what sounds good/bad is subjective. I play mostly high gain metal/hard rock. I also use the clean channels extensively. Cab sim I have the Catalyst 200. Will using the 2x12 give best results... 4x12 is a bit "boomy" sounding. MIC types Which are best for what styles of music? Noise Gate What do the Threshold/decay settings do/how should they be used? How do knobs like Boost and presence affect the tone. Thank you in advance for you help. it's much appreciated.

Why is there Low Cut and High Cut in the "Reverb parameters"? Do they function the same as they would in other modeling applications? And why does the reverb level affect the volume level of the guitar? I really want to understand more of the features of the of the edit software... not sure why Line 6 doesn't include this in the manual... I see various vids on youtube... any one(s) in particular that could help flesh out the knowledge of this amp? Thanks
-
lol disregard that. i had the PC off... long day. but thanks for the help
-
strange... i'm using an overdriven preset on the helix... but the Catalyst is clean?
-
thank you very much for the help
-
Thanks for this... currently i have single path on this preset... do i have to split the path and send one output L/R?
-
I've tried both cabs into the Helix with mixed results... underwhelming honestly... but i'm sure i'm doing something wrong. I have the PC 112+ connected using the "Link" function... i'm going to use one of the 1/4" connections to go into the CATALYST. Should I use the CATALYST in "loop" mode, as opposed to the "Power amp" function? I've read people had better results that way. Will i get a true "stereo" from the above? Any advice is appreciated

I using my Helix LT with a PowerCab 112 plus. I'm trying to get a "smoother", warmer sound out the YJM strat. I realize that the YJM pickups, aren't truly "single coil"... but they react similarly... I'm finding that the hi-gain tones that sound good with my Jackson/JB in bridge.... sounding harsh and brittle with the YJM. I had similar issues even when i was using tube amps with this guitar. I was wondering if anyone had any general rules about using "single coil" pick up guitar with the Helix/PC 112+ Thank you in advance.
-
many thx. i appreciate the help! i will try wha you mentioned. i have the rest of this month to decide if the PC 112 are the best sounding speakers for the Helix LT... for me ( i play 80s/90s hard rock/heavy metal/neo classical) i purchased it at my GC so i can get something else in the $600 -700 range if need be.
