  1. Part of the problem is shipping multiple boxes.. :( I asked about covering the cost of shipping.. We'll see what is next.. Either way I try to go, I'm out money, if I return it, I'm likely to get charged a 20% restocking fee.. Or spend another 20% just to get a product working that should have been working in the first place..
  2. Well I guess I'll have to figure out a way to ship it- Which is going to cost way too much.. Sheesh...
  3. You do know there's an issue with the volume pot and 1/4 output as well?
  4. My 500x is just over 1y/o. I got it 12/15/15. Will this cost extra?
  5. I'm trying to get the rma. Will I be able to bring the guitar to you ?
  6. I'm not exactly sure and I wish I could test it an let you know. I did have some success with the acoustic modeled amp as well. But my JTV has some issues and I'm working with support to get them resolved. If I get my JTV issues resolve I'll have to see if I can record what I hear and share it. Or at least answer your question. I do appreciate the input as well..
  7. I've logged 2 tickets on this issue - Because the issue also extends to the 1/4 connector and the volume pot. Are you in Calabasas? I am in SoCal and would be happy to get my guitar fixed. Are you located in Calabasas? I've logged tickets: 291053 and 291057 - I've attached my receipt to one as request by wvolkmann - He is going to assign the ticket to the service. department.. He was responding to 291053 - 291057 hasn't been opened yet. I do appreciate you help... Trav...
  8. I connected my Variax to the 1/4 and the sounds go away - Problem is, the 1/4 doesn't work reliably.. I plug it in and get nothing - I'll twist all the way up and get no sound, then out of nowhere the sound will appear - I posted a separate topic on that issue - Waiting to hear from Line6 Support Ticket. :( So at least part of the issue is my VDI cable . Now if only my guitar actually worked.. I haven't been able to use it for the last 2 weekend gigs.. :( First the snapping showed up out of nowhere during the first gig, had to swap guitars, then the 1/4 stopped working or turns on and off with no rhyme as to why.. Hard to believe I paid so much for this guitar..
  9. Thanks Uber Guru - I did do that prior to posting my frustration filled post on the forums. In the mean time, I tried doing a refresh of the 89Fs firmware. I was surprised it actually completed with all the snap, crackles, and pops that occurred. I am anxiously awaiting to hear back from Line 6.. Again, thanks for your input. I really appreciate it..
  10. I gotta say I've become quite frustrated with Line 6. I have had my "refurbished" 89F for 8 days, and only been able to play it around 5 hours. Since I've got some kind of snap, crackle, and pop issue with the VDI, I decided to plug in a 1/4 cable and see how it worked. I got absolutely nothing. Volume turned up all the way and still nothing. Fully charged batter. I tried it connected to my 500X and then went direct to Hi-Z input on my Octa-Capture audio interface, still nothing.. Then out of no where I got sounds. But the sounds were very faint, and I had to turn the gains up nearly 3/4 on my audio interface to hear anything. I played with the volume a bit and noticed that from 1/4 to 3/4 the volume level responded very little then after hitting 3/4 to full there was dramatic jump in volume. So I started playing and practicing a song, and then nothing, not a single sound out of the thing. Did I really pay 1k for something with such poor quality? Didn't the tech who "refurbished" the device even test the guitar out before boxing it back up? I purchased it directly from Line 6 too. My guess is they got the device back, plugged it in, and it worked for their tests and the issue didn't present itself. So they boxed it up and sold it as refurbished and in all likelihood they didn't do anything to it. So they sold the same faulty product twice. I even wonder if they even tested it at this point. Feeling quite frustrated and had to get some of the frustration out. I thought I might actually get what I paid for, and I could get much better with a Christmas bundle for $200 at guitar center than what Line 6 sold me.
  11. Hello Gurus, Have a new JTV-89F connected to my HD 500X - I am getting snap crackles and pops - Signal Path: 1. 89F 2. VDI Cable - Line 6 3. Guitar to HD 500X 4. XLR Output through XLR to Roland Octa-Capture (home studio) or Church PA Mixing Board (direct) Snaps disappear as soon as I disconnect the VDI cable - I've blown out the VDI ports on my Guitar and 500X I've blown out the connections on the VDI Cable Any suggestions - Also attaching a file with an example of the issue. Thanks in advance for your help.. Merry Christmas!! Trav... SnapCrack-Pop2.mp3
  12. Currently I don't use an amp with my Variax. I use my Roland sound card and Presonus studio monitors along with 500X. I decided to look back at the videos posted of the Variax and its clear not one of them dare move down the neck to the higher frequencies, and now I know why. They don't sound like a real acoustic. The higher the frequency the more it sounds like a synth.
  13. I've notice the exact same thing with my 89F - It is especially noticeable with acoustic 12string models. You can definitely hear the octavator at work. It sounds great when I'm playing in the lower register, but the higher up the scale I go the more and more it sounds like a synthesizer and a lot less of an accoustic guitar. I have been able to tone down this synth sound with the use of EQs but I can't get the synth sound out completely.. Is this normal, or should I capture a recording and post it to a support ticket???

    500X

Gotta Say I'm dig'n and yes, lov'n my 500X... I picked it up this morning for X-Mas, along with a Fender Hot Rod - Major upgrade from a DigiTech RP350 and a 15y/o Crate 65W (non-dsp) and now UP to this behemoth setup (in comparison).. Compared to the RP the 500X is a dream come true.. Yes NEED came into the equation, because I've been doing just fine with the 350 but I NEEDED to be able to remove various pedals out of the signal path a lot more efficiently then having to create a complete tone selection just to remove/add something to the path. Plus as time goes by and we invest more "real" time in actually playing our guitars, and consequently our skills and talents improve and our ears grow more attuned and we begin to find our own particular "TONE". It was at this fork that I found myself, being held back by the 350 and honestly I can't see the ground now that I've got the 500X under my wings.. Yes I'm a Line 6 Newb, but now that I got one, I can't wait to pick my guitar up and play.. I know you all know that feeling, and it's nice to feel that again.. So YES in response to the OP - - There's no reason not to LOVE your 500X - I'm right there with ya, lov'n mine!!!
  15. I am by far a complete newbbbb to the Line 6 world. I've heard it in garages and on stage. That said, I am currently in "research" mode for a new amp/multi-effects device. I have been reading all the information I can find on the Amplifi series, and the MKII is the only other short(switch) expressly designated compatible with the Amplifi devices. MT - LLAP
