    The transmitter is docked with the receiver until I'm ready to use it. Are you saying I should remove the transmitter from the receiver, then plug it back in for 10 seconds and then put it in my bass? I'm not sure if it comes back on it's own (without my twiddling with it). But, I'll find out the next time I use it.

    I'm having the same type of dropout problems. It plays reliably for a while and then suddenly the LED turns red and the sound cuts off. Is it likely that this unit is defective? I can't use it outside of practice sessions until I know it works reliably.
