I am getting this error when trying to update my firmware to 2.0 so that I can use my HD500 with edit and not get errors. Here are the steps that I have taken:
When my generic USB-MIDI cables didn't work, I bought the UNO MIDISPORT from Maudio and installed the updated driver (win 7 sp1). I read that sometimes these drivers are "wonky" and used the uninstall app from m-audio to fully remove the driver from the system and re-install. Tried both MIDI plugs (in and out - both ways) Tried using an old XP computer, my wife's PC who uses Vista, and even a friends Mac Thinking the midi in port/jack might be busted, I tested them by using MIDI Ox and Rolf's DT edit to insure that I was getting MIDI to and from the amp (and I am). I get MIDI data back on the display in MIDI Ox when i fiddle the buttons. I can use Rolf's DT Edit tool to switch the channels/settings on the amp with my PC. So, I know Midi is working. resetting the amp (pinch the channel select and pent/triode switches together) turn it on in safe-mode by holding the channel toward B for 10 seconds when turning it on. This doesn't appear to be working at all as I get no signal to/from the amp this way Opened a ticket on line 6 3 days ago now which they ask me one question per day (did you try the most up-to-date drivers?) despite me outlining all of this initially.
Every combination of those above yields the 80000000A error. Monkey can't even detect what is on it. Very frustrating.
