  1. Oh wow honestly that explains alot, I was having problems with dry signal as well : ) i thought it was weird when the distortion block was engaged and volume was decreased the dry signal would be heard as an overtone.... So much thanks to you all. Appreciate it
  2. I dont believe so? Ok so, The reason i have both amp and cab on both signal paths was to A/B test the difference in tone and volume. All amp/cab setups are the exact same there are no differences in volumes or anything of that matter. All Signal paths are mono center panned and volume levels are 0db. I noticed with the amp and cab enabled in the second signal path "amp/cab 1st path disabled", the tone sounded almost the same as running the setup through a single signal path with the amp/cab setup. The only problem with that is i cant fit all the effects blocks into the same signal path due to DSP, which therefore having to use two signal paths and facing this volume boost issue. When i run the amp/cab setup in the first signal path "amp/cab 2nd path disabled" as referenced in the picture, i noticed there is a dramatic difference in tone. It sounds almost boxy and blanketed. So i noticed volume boost when i enabled signal path 2A. I believe there are two separate issues going on here or maybe they're related to the same problem " more than likely user related issue" I ran a loudness meter to check the difference in volumes with one signal path as opposed to two. Its somewhere near 6.4db difference, what i did was increased the first signal path output to +6.4db and decreased the second signal path output to -6.4db. The first signal path is at unity and the second is boosted by 6.4db, so to counteract this i did the above. This appeared to sort of fix the issue?? It would be nice to get some clarity on whats happening here and if im actually doing things the right way from the get go.
  3. No it doesn't, The only time i get a volume increase is when i add a second signal path, almost like a volume boost has been added. I also noticed when i have eq blocks on the second signal path and the amp/cab block on the first signal path there is a noticeable difference in tone as opposed to placing them both into the same signal path. Im actually sending the signal from path 1 into path 2A.
  4. Hi all, I've noticed when i configure my helix signal path to use the additional path 2A i find there is a volume increase. I've also noticed when assigning an amp block to the second signal path it increases the volume and frequency as opposed to having it assigned to the first signal path. When assigning an amp block and cab to the first signal path i would have to add about 1db to the end of it and have noticed the frequency is darker as opposed to assigning an amp block and cab to the second signal path. Can anyone explain what is going on here, is there a reason behind this method of madness?
  5. This has got to be the best collaboration of experiences, suggestions, and opinions in one thread. I cannot thank you all enough, this information is so vital for those whom seek knowledge of the FRFR world and not to forget the capabilities of the Helix in combination with the PC112+. Definitely Saved me a lot of $$headache$$ including the sound guy ;) I also just received my new L6 Helix floor limited edition space grey today, what a beauty! On another note me Fiance doesn't care for now either $$$$$ get her the ring first then treat self!
  6. Thank you rd2rk for your response. Firstly I am 100% open minded to all suggestions w/reason and appreciate all in return. response to FRFR use for live In other words do you actually need to have an FRFR speaker for live if there are existing fold backs and you've got a FOH? What are the benefits of using the FRFR for live from experience? I've only read a little bit about how there is an option to use inbuilt cabinet speaker emulators and wondered is the switch just a quicker way to cycle through speaker emulators so you're not having to adjust settings in the Helix? From your experience it sounds like the onboard speaker emulators of the PC112+ are of preference and am just wondering why? Would you or anyone else reading this know how the Powercab 112+ 250W Peak power pull up against the headrush 112 1000W RMS when using it live with no FOH? Reasons for claiming to buy the headrush 112 over other FRFR I had a look into the PC cabinets including friedman, mission 2x12 etc and wasn't sold on them purely for the fact that they're expensive here in Australia $1000+ and the HR 112 cheapest price i could find was $550 atm. I also did my research on the specs and reviews for majority of choices available and the HR112 appears to be the bang for buck and hopefully not buck for bang :/ so i do have my concerns about the HR112 and as you can see not completely sold yet.
  7. Hi all, First of all i have not received my helix in the mail yet. Just wanting to know can you plug both guitar and mic into the Helix floor unit and run the output of the helix into a headrush FRFR-112? speaking from my lack of knowledge and understanding im assuming the Helix has an inbuilt mic pre amp and therefor the output signal should travel into the headrush FRFR with no issues?
  8. Hi all, I haven't yet received my Line 6 Helix floor and am thinking about buying the Headrush FRFR 112. I noticed people mentioned to use an FRFR speaker due to the fact that its a flat response allowing you to hear the pure dsp modeller sound as intended. So therefore to get the best out of your helix live stage sound should you then connect it to the FRFR speaker as you normally would "@home" and connect the FOH to its output to benefit from the flat response speaker assuming that the output does emulate this?
  9. Hi all, I have not yet received my Line 6 Helix floor in the mail and am thinking about buying the Headrush FRFR 112 in preparation for it. I noticed people mentioned to use an FRFR speaker due to the fact that it is a full range & flat response speaker enabling you to hear the pure dsp modeller sound as intended. So therefore to get the best out of your helix live stage sound should you then connect it to the FRFR speaker as you normally would "@home" and connect the FOH to its output to benefit from the full range flat response as intended, assuming that the output does emulate this?
