  1. Dear friends, Anyone that has tried to use pod-ui v1.5.0 on Apple Silicon (or without drivers on Windows) should check out version 1.5.1, which fixed a nasty bug in the USB code that randomly crashes the application (especially noticeable on Apple Silicon).
  2. Hi @scottastic86, I've seen this question before. For example, in this thread. I think any off-brand adapter with adequate plug and current of 1200mA or higher will do. At least, that's what I will be looking for once my POD adapters die.
  3. Nope. You will need a 9V AC power supply, PX-2g. See: I don't know, if you really need a 2000mA version. That chart lists both POD 2.0 and PODxt in the same, but my POD 2.0 has a 1500mA power supply.
  4. Dear friends, It's been almost a year since the last release of pod-ui. Today v1.5.0 is released, which has a bunch of fixes for macOS users and -more importantly- support for talking with the PODxt devices over plain USB without the need for Line6 drivers. This will be especially useful for Apple Silicon users, where Line6 drivers for legacy hardware are not available at all. Windows users can also forego installing official Line6 drivers, but they will need a generic USB drivers - please see the v1.5.0 release page and the dedicated pod-ui libusb page. Keep on rockin'!
  5. @Beatlefreek They are not "additional amps". There are 36 banks: 1A,1B,1C,1D,2A,2B...9C,9D. Banks hold presets. Any bank can have a preset, which selects one of the amps. When you choose a bank and an amp gets selected, you can now turn the "amp models" knob to select a different amp. When you turn the "amp models" knob without pressing "tap" at the same time, you select one of the 1-16 amps with the name written around the knob, such as #1 "Line 6 Clean", #2 "Line 6 Cruch", ..., #15 "Fuzz Box" or #16 "Tube Preamp". Now, if you press and hold the "tap" button and select #1 "Line 6 Clean", you're really selecting #17 "Line 6 Twang". In fact, the chart above for amps 17-32 reads as #17 "(Line 6 Clean) Line 6 Twang" and #32 "(Tube Preamp) Jazz Clean". This means that if you want to select #17 "Line 6 Twang", you press and hold the "tap" button and select "Line 6 Clean" on the "amp models" knob. For #32 "Jazz Clean" you press and hold the "tap" button and select "Tube Preamp"
  6. Hi @gbline62016, My apologies, I've not been on this forum in quite a while ;) The answer to your question is "yes!" ;) The sysex format of Alesis SR-16 is documented: https://manualzz.com/doc/23358749/alesis-sr-16-midi-system-exclusive-format and there is even an editor for Windows: http://www.namesoft.biz/sr16editor/
  7. The software you're looking for is SoundDriver 3.0. If you get a hold of it, you may need to run it in an older system virtual machine -- the last release was in 2002, it would work in a Windows 7 VM. It supports Bass POD. I started on Bass POD support in pod-ui, but the patch format seems quite different between Bass POD and the other PODs, I didn't have much incentive to work on it. -A
  8. Yes, PocketPOD supports PC messages, but that will only switch the presets in the user banks. The way I understand it, is that the "browse by band" and "browse by style" sets are read-only. You can't switch to them using PC messages and the POD won't send PC messages when you're browsing those categories. I'm not sure about the lists. The "Vyzex Pocket POD" software comes with the style / band / pocket pod factory sets, which you can at least load to the editor, but it is laid out rather confusingly, since it doesn't show the toplevel categories (band names / style names), just the preset names.
  9. @vieiraspm Hi again. You got me interested in M-Vave Chocolate and I ordered myself Chocolate + MS1 device combo. The post came today and I had to try them out. I am pleasantly surprised, but it turns out, it IS possible to connect Chocolate to PocketPOD using MS1's MIDI "B" module. Right off the bat Chocolate and MIDI "B" connect, but nothing happens when I press buttons on the chocolate. I had to get the M-Vave CubeSuite software to connect to the MIDI "B" and put it in the "HOST ONLY MODE" (it was in OTG mode by default). After that, when I closed the app and Chocolate connected to MIDI "B" again, the buttons on the Chocolate device switched things on the PocketPOD.
  10. @dylangee Please try pod-ui, https://github.com/arteme/pod-ui, if that doesn't find your device either, it could be a drivers/hardware issue.
  11. Hi, A PocketPOD is not a stand-alone MIDI device. It doesn't have any MIDI in/out ports of its own. It has a USB port, that when connected to a PC (Windows, mac, Linux) given the right drivers, will create a MIDI port for it. I'm not sure how you're supposed to connect a foot pedal to a Pocket POD in this set-up. If you were to connect a foot pedal and a pocket pod to a laptop, you could potentially cross-connect them in MIDI land somehow, but you may need to do some MIDI mapping. There's a Line6 MIDI controls reference here: https://line6.com/data/l/0a06000f1344c45ecbcd6e0293/application/pdf/MIDI Continuous Controller Reference , but it doesn't mention the PocketPOD even though it is not far off a POD 2.0 device with a bunch of controls removed. Good luck in your endeavour!
  12. Happy New Year, dear pod-ui users, It's been a while since the last release, which means that it is time for a new one. I present to you v1.4.0, which comes with a few minor improvements and fixes. First off, proper macOS integration finally means that the "Quit" menu items (both application menu and dock) actually close the app. Second, tempo controls added for PODxt and Bass PODxt devices. Finally, the Linux build was broken in v1.3.0 and is now fixed. Please head over to the releases page to download the fresh release. I am also proud to say that L6T reading and writing work has been proceeding nicely and a version with patch loading is not very far away.... Cheers!
  13. Dear friends, It's been a while! Today I'm proud to announce version 1.3.0 with POD 1.0 and Bass PODxt family support. As usual, there are bug-fixes that are especially interesting for the PODxt people. Keep on rockin'!
  14. Hello, Bass PODxt folk! Today I'm proud to announce Bass PODxt family (Bass PODxt, Bass PODxt Live, Bass PODxt Pro) support in pod-ui latest version, v1.3.0, which you can download from the releases page. Pod-ui is a modern cross-platform UI for controlling POD devices. It gives you a simple UI to tweak all your POD knobs and toggles. Ultimately, I would like to be able to load presets from files (.L6T, .LIB) to have feature parity with Line6 Edit, but there's still a lot of work to do to achieve that. I have a bunch of PODs myself (POD 2.0, PODxt, Pocket POD), but not a single Bass PODxt, so the support is based on my experience with PODxt and cross-operation with Line6 Edit. For this reason, Bass PODxt support is marked as experimental. Please give it a spin and report any errors. Sincerely, liet_
  15. @gallen123 You may have better luck with pod-ui: https://github.com/arteme/pod-ui/releases, but it may not fit your needs (yet) if you want to load patches from files.
  16. @sargue, I'm not sure I get what you mean. The login to CustomTone is the same as this forum. At least it works this way for me -- I log in here and navigate to the link you've provided where I can download the tones. Some give me L6T-files, some give error 404. My PODxt is not registered, but it is authorized. Maybe that counts for something, but the same way I can download POD HD present, for example, for which I have no hardware or activation. Then, of course, you're faced with a problem of how to load the L6T file to the device and that's why you came here. For now, I think your best bet is a Windows 7 VM with Java 8 and Line6 Edit. That would also help with authorization if you chose to upload modelpacks to the device. Cheers!
  17. Hi @sargue! Thanks for checking out pod-ui! Unfortunately, pod-ui doesn't load presets from files to POD devices. Yet. I know everyone is really looking forward to it, but for now you're only able to have all the knobs and switches all in one place on your screen. Granted, editing the presets on the PODxt device is much simpler than it used to be <insert old man rant here about how the things used to be ...>, but dare I say that the device is way more usable than POD 2.0... Either way, you get the controls and preset management, but not the loading. Yet. For what it's worth, I've not had serious issues using the USB interface. When I started on PODxt support, I found that the Linux driver was broken, but the patches to fix it have long been accepted and I've not had to use the MIDI interface since. The macOS driver can be a bit iffy and ever so often loses connection to the PODxt. My Windows 7 VM works just fine with the USB interface as well. I can't vouch for Win 10/11, I've only done some rudimentary testing with it. Cheers! PS. Yes, the backups are essential. I'm glad I had most of the personal data backed up - locally and in the cloud. But now I have a routine in place for the weekly full HD backups B) PPS. If you're interested, both pod-ui and l6t-rs can use some love so we get l6t-file loading done sooner ;)
  18. Thank you so much for you interest. I've been hoping to work more on L6T support in the summer, but currently I'm recovering from a hard drive crash where I lost my Windows VMs, Line6 Edit, Sound Diver and a whole bunch of code... I guess this is a teachable moment -- take backups, commit & push often :D Realistically though, I think we won't see L6T support till Christmas. I know there is a lot of interest in this, but there's quite a lot to figure out about the format still. Cheers!
  19. Thank you for your interest! Installing on Mac is pretty straightforward: 1. Visit https://github.com/arteme/pod-ui/releases and check for the latest release available for Mac. At the time of writing, it is v1.2.0; 2. Download pod-ui-v1.2.0-osx.dmg from the release page; 3. Double-click on the downloaded DMG file, which opens the DMG archive; 4. Drag Pod-UI from the opened DMG window onto your desktop or into the "Applications" folder; 5. Ta-da, the app is now installed, you can start it by double-clicking the Pod-UI application icon. Some times, it doesn't start on the first double-click (right after the install), try again. I'm not a Mac native, so if anyone can explain this phenomenon to me, I'd be much obliged. Cheers!
  20. Dear friends, Please welcome the long-overdue version 1.2.0 of pod-ui with multiple bug-fixes, especially for PODxt users. The major bug fixes include the loading of programs that was broken for PODxt users after the initial data load. Another big issue I've seen is pod-ui crashing on encountering NUL-character in the program name loaded from the POD. Both should be fixed now. Program name editing now updates the corresponding program grid button right away and there are no more surprises when adding a space at the end. It is now also possible to load/save a different program (for example, open 1A, modify it, save it to 3B; or while modifying 1A, reload 1B from device). Next on the list is better macOS integration as discussed here previously and, hopefully, reading/writing L6T files. Keep on rockin'!
  21. If you want something that works on modern operating systems and supports both Pod 2.0 and Pod Pro, take a look at pod-ui: https://github.com/arteme/pod-ui/releases Also please note that you need a sound card with MIDI support or a good USB-MIDI cable (for either pod-ui or official Line6 software). Unfortunately, many cheap Chinese USB-MIDI cables just don't do MIDI SysEx messaging right and you'll be stuck unable to detect the device or upload/download patches to the computer
  22. Dear Gasper, Thank you for the bug report. I'm not a macOS-native myself, so I easily overlook issues that someone that is used to a Mac workflow would spot. There is a library I could use to integrate with macOS dock & menu bar better. I've added this to the backlog, https://github.com/arteme/pod-ui/issues/32. I'll address this for v1.3.0 as v1.2.0 is going out for a release in a couple days with some long-overdue bug-fixes: https://github.com/arteme/pod-ui/milestone/6?closed=1 Keep the bug reports coming ;) Sincerely, liet_
  23. Hi michaeldigangi1, I don't have Windows 11, so I'm shooting in the dark here, but if you go to https://line6.com/software/index.html, and select "PODxt", "Drivers" and "Windows 10", you get the latest driver 4.2.7.7 (https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=9028), which is advertised to work for Windows 7,8,10,11. Good luck! If I remember correctly, you should be able to install the model pack to up to 4 devices, so you should be good... Cheers, -liet
  24. According to https://line6.com/support/page/kb/general-faq/power-supplybattery-specs-and-faq-r445/, you're looking for a PX-2g power supply. Something I've also come across is the following table, which lists some other model/part numbers: Of course, buying off the internet you may run into power supplies of dubious quality, make sure to check the customer feedback.
