  1. Thanks for getting back to me, in answer to your questions; nothing else connected apart from my studio led lights, which I’ve turned off and unplugged from the circuit, still no joy. and no computer plugged in either. as for surge strip, my power comes from a Samson PB10 power conditioner. My wifi router is downstairs well away from my studio. Yes I have brand new cables from a reputable company, I’ve also tried different midi cables and standard cables but still no joy. i genuinely think this is a Helix issue as I have some normal stompboxes that I ran in place of the helix through the effects loop of the JVM with no problems at all, very close to selling the unit and just going back to that to be fair.
  2. Okay so, im having a massive amount of hum coming from my Marshall JVM410h, using a 4cbl method with the helix LT. I’m using a MIDI cable from the helix into the JVM to change from Clean to OD1 to OD2 depending what snapshot I’m using within a preset. Had this Hum for a while posted a few questions about it and not solved anything. However, I noticed this evening that when I take the MIDI cable out the hum drastically reduces, to a level I think is more than acceptable for a pushed valve amp. Why is it doing this? Using the midi to change the channels is kind of the point of the whole preset, and the point of me actually owning this unit. many ideas? Could the midi ports be broken in either the JVM or the Helix? cheers.
  3. Wow, that's really interesting mate thank you for your insight, ill have to run it all past my father, he is an electrical engineer by trade and will know a lot more about it than I do! I think ill invest in a Samson power conditioner and run my Marshall and Helix off that and hopefully get a bit more stability when using my rig at home. Thank you again for your help.
  4. Sounds pretty plausible I suppose as im just running off the standard 240 wall socket at home. However I don't get as much hum playing at the studios and that's not through any conditioners
  5. Hi guys, im getting a ridiculous amount of hum/interference from the LT when using the 4CBL method into my JVM410h The helix is wired up the usual way a 4cbl method is, Left/mono into the JVM Return. Helix Send into the JVM input. Helix return into JVM Send I have a midi cable changing the channels of the helix too snapshot one is the clean channel of the JVM with some effects. snapshot 2 is OD1 Red which just hums uncontrollably, snapshot 3 is OD2 Orange which hums but an acceptable amount for a hi gain tube amp. Ive got 2 gates active on the preset, one at the guitar input, and one right at the end of the chain, Ive trialed and errored all the blocks bypassing them one by one and none make a blind bit of difference when the amp is on the rhythm channel. Global settings is everything is set to instrument, anything else and the hum gets louder than the guitar signal its ridiculous. I tried pasting a YouTube video I made about the whole thing but it doesn't let me post any videos in this thread, so if you want to try and find it the video is called - so much hum from Helix LT and my name on YouTube is - Jesey Floyd This is the last straw with this unit unfortunately im far too stressed out trying to get it to work properly I can't put more gates on it as it just makes the sound terrible. Any help is appreciated thanks
  6. Yeah makes absolute sense cheers buddy I think I was getting confused because if I stuck for example sake just a boss delay in the loop with no helix that would come through clear? Just wondering why the helix doesn’t do that. oh don’t get me started on the microphonic feedback… hate to think it but might even be a faulty unit.
  7. Not too sure how more clear to put it than the original post but; Guitar - Boss volume pedal - input of JVM Midi out of helix - Midi input JVM (the helix changes my channels on the JVM) Return out the helix - Send of the JVM Send of the helix - Return of the JVM Thats literally it, Like I said in a previous comment I can't run the 4cbl method at rehearsal volumes as I just get microphonic feedback and ive tried everything setting wise on the helix and JVM hence why ive just ran it like this. Can't send a picture as im at work but the picture linked to my original post is the set up in question.
  8. Nothing drastic just the simple delay is enough for what I need.
  9. Thanks Phil just wanted to clarify is all, when I hooked it up with the 4cbl method the delay was a lot cleaner. Unfortunately I can’t use the 4cbl method with the JVM at rehearsal volumes I just get constant microphonic feedback, literally tried everything but the helix just won’t have it, hence why I’m just having to run through the fx loop of the JVM.
  10. Hi All, Got a weird one, or maybe im just being thick... Running my Helix with a JVM410H ONLY IN THE EFFECTS LOOP! So signal chain is; Guitar - Front of JVM - JVM send > Helix return - Helix Send > JVM Return I have the helix set up with the flow being; Input (Return 2) - Volume pedal - Chorus - Reverb - Delay - EQ - Noise Gate - Output (Send 1) When I play a note on my OD1 Channel on the JVM with the delay im getting a distorted delay? surely it shouldn't be distorted it should be a clean delay afterwards?
