So I've already found that you cannot dump previously dumped saved sysex presets back IN to the M5, nothing happens. Yes, I've tried everything, I know the process Mostly works because I had no problem dumping presets to my computer, it's just going back that doesn't work which renders the entire sysex dumping process meaningless Now I've just discovered that if you try to copy a preset from one slot to another, it doesn't copy the name you gave to the preset!!!! What a mess!!!!!! Managing presets on the M5 is therefore a total disaster. I'm wasting an entire day copying and renaming presets manually, having to play ping pong with an empty slot, and renaming every preset I copy through the tedious naming process, because the Sysex dump doesn't work.

I have noticed the same thing - you can name the Preset Slot that the effect goes in, but it doesn't change the name of what the preset's effect is. What's even worse, if you copy one of those presets to another slot, it doesn't copy the name you made for the effect.

Using a MOTU M4 interface and Sysex Librarian, I had no problem sending individual preset backup sysex files to my Mac - however, when I try to then send presets IN to the M5, it shows a quick loading screen on the device but the preset does NOT load into the bank. Nothing. I've tried fiddling with midi channels, different cables, etc, it's just not working. Huge bummer, basically renders the sysex backup process useless. The only thing I noticed is that I think when I tried it with the the All presets dump it worked, however that does me almost no good as far as managing and moving individual presets. I suppose I'll have to write down all my preset settings by hand, good lord. I've been using my M5 connected via MIDI to my synth (yamaha SY55) for a whole year, it's been great because it receives Program Change from my synth (with the help of a midi filter to stop the tuner from activating ha) but now that I've finally gotten around to backing up and moving my presets, I'm completely stuck. There was one other thread about it but the conclusion there wasn't any help
