Forgot to mention that I already did multiple factory restarts before and after a firmware upgrade as well as experimenting with other settings.

Just bought Spider V 60 MkII today and have this same problem. Got it with a new guitar and taking both back to the store tomorrow to make sure the guitar itself isn't the issue with a short in the wiring or something. Will also make sure it's not the cable itself.
