Hi everyone, I’d like to ask other Helix Stadium XL users about something I’m experiencing with output levels and input level control. I’m currently running firmware 1.3.2. Compared with my previous Helix Floor, I find the overall output level of the Stadium XL surprisingly low. I have tested the unit using: 1/4" outputs into a Focusrite Scarlett 8i8 line input XLR outputs Headphones directly connected to the Stadium XL I have already checked the Matrix Mixer and the individual output levels, and I can raise them to maximum, but the overall available output level still seems quite low. With the 1/4" or XLR outputs this can obviously be compensated for by increasing the gain or volume on the external audio interface, mixer, powered speaker, etc. However, the headphone output is a different matter. Even with the headphone/output level and Matrix levels turned up, I find the maximum headphone volume considerably lower than I would expect from a unit like this. With my previous Helix Floor I had much more volume available and could simply adjust it to whatever level I needed. So my first question is: Is the lower maximum output level, particularly from the headphone output, normal by design on the Stadium XL, or is there another gain/output setting that I may have missed? There is another related issue that I find somewhat limiting. With external audio sources such as AUX and Bluetooth, I can adjust their contribution to the final mix using the Matrix Mixer, but what I am referring to is the actual input gain/trim of the incoming signal itself. I would like to be able to increase or decrease the level of an incoming AUX or Bluetooth source before it reaches the final output mix, rather than simply adjusting its level within the Matrix. Compared with my previous Helix workflow, I find this less flexible. So my second question is: Is there any independent input gain/trim control for AUX and Bluetooth audio, or is the Matrix Mixer currently the only level control available for these sources? To summarize, I’m trying to understand whether: The Stadium XL genuinely has a lower maximum output level than the original Helix Floor. The relatively low headphone volume is normal hardware behaviour or a firmware issue. There is any additional gain stage available before the Matrix Mixer. AUX and Bluetooth have any true input gain/trim adjustment, independently of their Matrix level. I’d especially appreciate feedback from anyone who previously owned a Helix Floor or LT and can directly compare the output and headphone levels with the Stadium XL. Hello, everyone. I have a Helix Floor and would like to use the headphones so as not to disturb anyone. Can you suggest a really good model for me to hear all the parameter changes that are put into a patch? I would prefer not to use mixers for space reasons. Thank you all and have a great day

Hi DataCommando, thank you for your reply. FYI I read the manual whenever I need it (if I need it at all), and if I posted the question it is because my Helix Floor has been connected to a USB3 port since I purchased it and it has always worked!!! However, this morning in trying to upgrade from 3.70 to 3.71, both the Editor and the Updater would not work. The updater in particular had started loading the firmware when suddenly the following message appeared: AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED. PLEASE TRY AGAIN. At that point the Helix no longer responded to the Boot and so I attempted to restore it by performing the procedure from the manual. Unfortunately, there was nothing to be done despite changing the PC, (using a laptop that has only USB2 ports). Only then did I plug the cable into the USB2 on the PC and everything was restored. Magic? Miracle? I don't know. So save the "unbelievable" quip. Before you set yourself up as a know-it-all, it would have been nice to have an exchange of views from serious people. Anyway thanks again for "your technically superior answer" however do me a favor, if I still need some advice, you don't give me any. Good luck for everything

SOLVED! The problem was the USB port on the PC. YOU DON'T NEED TO USE THE USB3 PORT but the USB2!!!!!. Unbelievable!!! Maybe Line 6 should solve these problems.

This morning I turned on the Helix floor that I had used the night before. As soon as I open the Helix editor 3.70 program I get an error message 8207. I notice that firmware 3.71 is dipsonable on the Line 6 site. I open the Line 6 updater program, select firmware 3.71, it starts gathering but at some point the message update failure appears. The message Update failed appears on the Helix display. Reboot and try again. I also tried doing a factory reset but I don't really know the procedure. I followed this info : Restore stock presets + setlists: Hold footswitches 7 + 8. Restore stock presets + setlists + IR's: Hold footswitches 8 + 9. Restore stock presets + setlists + IR's and Globals: Hold footswitches 9 + 10. Reset Globals: Hold footswitches 5 + 6. Erase and restore/reset all factory and user presets: Hold footswitches 10 + 11. Erase and clear current preset only: Hold footswitches 11 + 12. Update Mode: Hold footswitches 6 + 12. But nothing happens . What should I do? More importantly, why did the firmware updating stop? Good morning, everyone, and welcome. I am writing this post because I just can't seem to make a decent sound on Helix. My setup is pretty good, Fender, Mixer, FRFR Speakers but I suspect I don't know how to set the Helix right. My question is as follows: The MULTI output in the created patch has two parameters; The first one is POWERCAB the second one appears a picture of a Cabinet. I would like to understand what they are for and if they affect the sound output of the Helix. I hope I have been clear. I attach an oto of what I am referring to. Thank you all and have a great day
