  1. Sorry, I may have made that more complicated than it needs to be. If you are on a preset and want to know what amp it is, just push both On+ Tap. Then the red light will show you what amp it is
  2. As far as I know there is no software for accessing the express from your computer. I believe the manual says you can download line 6 central for future updates to express but I don't think there are any now. The manual that you can download (it's for both guitar and bass pod express) describes only the main sounds on the amp wheel but not what is saved in preset. You can overwrite all 21 slots in preset mode. But if you want to know what they are, go into preset mode (by tapping On+Tap together) and cycle to the setting you are curious about. Now tap the two buttons again (on+tap) to go back and the red light will be on the amp being used for the preset you just switched from. Like if I save Princeton amp with reverb to #5 in yellow (bass and guitar have different colors). If I go to my Princeton on #5 yellow by tapping On+Tap and cycling to #5, then if I tap them again to go back to play/edit mode it will be on the first amp Princeton. Hope this helps
  3. They have different functions. A wah pedal lets you make that wah wah wah sound with your guitar. So for that you go from guitar into wah and then into the guitar input on express. An expression pedal controls different things in different devices. With the pod express an expression pedal only controls the volume. If you want that it plugs into input that says Volume on the express. With other pedals or devices an expression controls things like delay, or pitch shift, or tremolo speed. But with the pod it would only let you control volume at your feet (which is useful, but it's the same as a volume knob)
  4. There are 21 slots for saving them in the order you want. Turn the amp knob to off (6:00, or straight down) and set the fx, then hold the amp knob to initiate save. Then choose location and hold amp knob again to save.
  5. Hello Steve - I also wish I could have a slow modulation while tapping the echo to my songs tempo. But there is no way to do that, I'm sure it would have been mentioned in the manual but it's not. I have a sperate multi fx unit to do this, as well as other pedals. I will say the Pod Express with a decent multi fx unit can do just about anything. I think it was designed to be easy and accessible more than to be a do all type unit. I totally dig the little box but yes, it's fx are limited by the way they are synced up with a tap
  6. I like it quite a lot. I knew about the limited fx peremeters so I use a separate multi fx for compressor, modulation, or slapback. As far as the amp sounds I think it's awesome. The amps chosen cover alot of ground. For an easy plug and play with headphones or active monitors it doesn't get much more simple. As for the JCM800 question, it does not have that model. What it does have is a Friedman that sounds eerily close to Eddie's plexi, a great crunchy Marshall-esque amp model. I love that one!
  7. Are you plugging guitar into wah pedal, and then wah pedal into the Express guitar IN, and then cable goin from OUT to your audio interface? Make sure the wah has a good battery, make sure you are plugged to correct IN and OUT on wah.
  8. Thank you silverhead, I see the reply box here. I was not seeing this box in any thread before making this thread. Hopefully I see it in other sections. I appreciate it
  9. Hello all. I am signed in. I can select a sub forum, and read the questions/threads. But there is no bar for me to input text or a reply button. Help me if you know what's going on, as id like to chat here. I've seen a few questions I could help with and I'd like to ask a few also. I found this post new topic at the main forum page, but once in sub forums I don't see any way to reply. Thank you!
