@Steve0916 you can assign blocks to be turned on and off by your stomp pedals. you will need to do this first though before in hx edit ( you can do it using the XL, i'm not sure how but there are some great youtube videos online). You'll need to right click on the block in the chain in hx edit- this should come up with a bypass assign column in the dropdown- from here you can assign that particular 'block' or effect to a separate foot switch on the XL. There are 4 different modes though so you'll need to toggle between the modes on the stomp to make sure you're in the right mode to be able to switch off and on effects using the stomp switches. I dont have an XL but i assume its fairly similar to the HX Stomp. Also i have only recently purchased mine a few weeks ago so apologies if my response isn't clear, there are lots of very experienced users on here who im sure will explain it better, but know i struggled with this at the start so thought i would help!
