  1. I'm kind of a Line 6 newbie here, resurrecting an old thread, but, as the eager owner of an incoming Dream Rig (JTV-59, DT12, HD500), I've been researching things ahead of time and came across this thread. Which I have to think would still be a useful and important topic for many users. First off, Colonel, did you ever come up with a final pedal configuration? Mostly, I've been simply thinking ahead about how to best integrate a few of my great-sounding (real) stomp boxes. Normally, I would think that the best way for, say, an overdrive and a compressor, would be going between guitar and amp, but, unless I'm missing something (quite likely), that then negates also hooking up the Line 6 DVI cable between JTV-59 and the HD500, too. Is that correct? Or can one connect both 1/4" cable and DVI cable? ( Checking, I don't see that mentioned in the JTV Variax Pilot's Guide, just either path described.) So, as far as I can tell, I could always situate the HD's FX loop at the *beginning* of the internal HD chain—using my overdrive and compressor—but that then precludes my also using, say, a TC Alter-Ego in the loop as well—at least *after* the rest of the HD500 things. (I guess I'm wishing there were actually TWO FX loops on the HD, but I think I'd need a Helix if I wanted more loops. Right?) I'm still not in possession of the incoming gear, but hopefully I've still managed to pose the correct questions. TIA! Also, did anyone here ever successfully get the HD500 loop running *and* the DT25's loop running at the same time? Or does the HD500 cancel out the DT25's loop?
