I've been keeping up with the ElectroVoice ZLX-12P and had more or less settled on purchasing one to use as my modeling "amp." However, I decided to do a little more research into the Line6 StageSource products, and now I'm torn. I'll be running a non-Variax electric into my Pod X3 Live. Recently, my wife and I had twins, so I'm taking a break from the band and this will be used at home for the foreseeable future, tilted back as a monitor. At some point, I will likely go back to gigging (small clubs), and I'll be using these as a personal monitor, running an XLR to the board for FOH sound. Although the reviews on the ZLX have been mostly favorable, I am concerned that there must have been some cost-cutting with some components and it may not be something I can rely on for years to come. That being said, at this time, I don't plan on using a lot of the other features of the L2M, such as expanding to a large, linked PA system. Does anybody have experience with both of these specific models that can share some observations. Is the extra cost of the StageSource speaker "worth it" for me?

I'm ditching most of my gear for my X3Live with an FRFR powered speaker to use at gigs. The new Atomic is a little too costly, so I was considering a used model, but they seem pretty hard to find. Then I came across the new EV ZLX-12P, which seems like it may fit the bill nicely. Does anybody have any experience with a comparison of these models? Any pros or cons I should take into consideration?

Thank you for the input. Do you have any powered cab recommendations besides an Atomic Reactor? They seem hard to find second-hand, and I'm not sure I can afford the new model. I should add that I don't like the look of a powered PA speaker behind me, although a powered monitor wedge would be fine.

I'm currently on hiatus from both my Misfits tribute band and a modern rock cover band as my wife and I recently had twin boys. This prompted the conversion of one room into a nursery and my office into a combination office/guest bedroom. To reduce some clutter, I'm considering selling of some gear, but I'm not sure what avenue I'd like to take: I currently have an X3Live, XT bean, Crate V3112, and custom built Mather cab with two Vintage 30s, among other assorted goodies. My first option is to keep the X3L, sell the rest, and look for a second-hand Atomic Reactor, keyboard amp, or other active wedge/amp. I would also consider grabbing a new Atomic CLR series if I thought that I could raise enough money for the active cab/wedge model. The next option is to sell it all and maybe grab a Spider Valve 112. At most gigs, my amp is miced to the PA along with the other guitar and all vocals. I would consider running an XLR from my X3Live direct to the PA, but I need something for monitoring as well. I am hoping that I can fund any necessary purchases with the sale of my extraneous gear. Any ideas or product suggestions?
