  1. Thx this audacity. Is giving me fits. Everything sounds good when playing and I found a cab model that goes good with the pc speaker. But playback is muffled and muddy. I'll checkout reaper later tonight.
  2. Since I got this bean I've been messing around trying to record. I'm using Audacity's freeware and it doesn't really playback as well as what I can hear through the amp or headphone for that matter. Computer speakers are decent enough. Some kind of labtech subwoofer things. I'd have to look for exact model. I feel like I'm missing something here. Better software options? Never done this before. Thx
  3. A little late to the party here, but honestly the XTLive turned my version 3 JJ tubed Valve Jr into an excellent bed room amp.
  4. No way I could use 1 patch. Still working on the HD Bean, but with my XTLive I'd go from Gilmour, to Page, to Van Halen etc. The thing I love most about this gear is it's diversity. Mix it up a bit. Rush requires several different tones. A number of different scores I've made up myself just running scales over the years sound better and are fun to play when I canchange up the tones a bit.

    No Soldano?

Hmmm not listed in the menu. Time to plug it in for update? Bought it used. Haven't hooked it to PC yet.

    No Soldano?

My XTLive spent 90% of it's time on this model. Now that I have the HD bean I'm at a loss as to how to profile something similar. Suggestions? Thx
  8. Thanks for the reply. You probably just saved me chunk of money.
  9. I've been using a Variax 700 for almost 10 year now and love the guitar, but have been thinking with all the improvement in the tech maybe an upgrade is something i should consider. For me I consider the 700 to be a solid 10. Neck is perfect, stays in tune forever it seems like, weight is good can't really say enough good things about it. Not really interested in the 59, but the 69 is interesting. Neck profile becomes a question for me as I hear in other reviews its larger and that might be a problem for me. The 89f looks to be closest to what i'm looking for. Are the necks similar? Is the over all build quality in the same league as the 700? it's actually a few $$$ less then what i paid for the 700. All my gear is about 10 years old now with the exception of the POD HD Bean I just got. I use the 1/4 jack to my pedals and POD to a Valve Jr and my XLR to a PA for acoustic. I have yet to "plug" into a computer or download patches or any of that stuff. I only play in my den now and wonder is it even worth it to change things out, If the tech is that much better though i'd certainly like to give it a try.

    XT Live R.I.P

Thanks for the reply. I always went from guitar to pedals to POD to Valve Junior. Now that the effects can go before and after the amp models should I change something? Often thought about putting the H2O after the POD but never did it. Also looking forward to trying 2 amp models. Thanks for the link.

    XT Live R.I.P

Got almost 10 years out of it, but the majority of the switches finally stopped working and I was sad to see it go. Between it, my Variax 700 and Valve Jr I had countless hours of enjoyment. The good news is I ordered a used Pod HD Bean (GF says I have to wait til xmas to open it). So i'll be back in form in no time. It will be interesting to see if what I found with the XT still holds true. The vast majority of the time, unless i'm using a 12 string or acoustic model, My Variax stays on Rick 360 with a Soldano amp model. Found that combination early on and it has stayed with me other then effects changes. I actually get a pretty fair Gilmorish tone with this base. I'm hoping the Bean will accept my pedals the way the XT did as I have 2 (Wampler Superplextortion and H2O Liquid chorus/delay) I just can't seem to replace. I never connected the XT to a computer, but I think with this Bean i'll attempt to get into to 21st century and give it a try. Thanks to Line 6 for putting this massive variety of tones in the hands of the novice player.
