  1. Awesome thanks for the reply. My church has a few different speakers that are not easily accessible so I wanted to get a good idea of which ones would go best with the l3t as far as volume matching. The dbspl seems like the more logical approach. Thanks again guys big help.

  3. I am trying to match up some speakers with my L3T but am wanting to get close to the power rating. Does anyone know what the estimated RMS power rating would be on these? Peak power just doesn't give me a lot to go on.
  4. Great patch, thanks. Been playing with the 2.10 for awhile and honestly it is really great once you get your ears use to the new sounds. Like any guitar my patches had to be modified to account for the new models. My old variax 600 sounded great and wish I still had that neck to put on my jtv69 but now that I am use to the new HD models I dont miss it near as much. I really dig the strat model now and have a custom model with the masonite too.
  5. Thanks wicker_man. I will try that. I have been running ino DSP issues when I do dual amps but have been thinking of going the HD500X route for this reason. I did not think of this prior but you are right it should work out well so long as I put the LT3 on guitar speaker mode. Will give it a go.
  6. Hello I just scored a used LT3 that sounds fantastic. I already had the dream rig but sold off my acoustic amp and bass amp for the LT3 which I am thrilled with. Weighs as much as my acoustic AG60 did but has way better sound quality. Lost a few inputs but the onboard mixer and anti-feedback are way better than anything I had on that AG60. I do a lot of small gigs but right now am playing around with trying to get my Dream rig to be stereo since I have this new LT3. From what I have gathered it's got to be at the end of the chain. I have Variax+VDI to HD500 + L6 Link to DT25 +L6 Link Out to LT3. I can get stereo but the thing is I use the Amp Pre on the HD500 but by the time my signal hits the LT3 the poweramp section isn't present. Even if I have the speaker sim selected on the LT3 it's still sounding off. Now If I just run the full amp simulation and go right into the LT3 it sounds great but what I am trying to do is somehow get not have to run the full amp sim into the DT25 to get a nice stereo set up. If this isn't possible I don't care, I don't do much stereo stuff anyway but it'd be cool to have the option. I still have the awesome ablility to run Acoustics to the LT3 and bypass the DT25. Had a few issues with the Variax when I got it a week or two ago but now it's just enjoying playing with the new gear.
  7. Thanks for the reply. I have been with Line 6 for years and have been using my old Variax with POD X3Live and then the HD500. 1)I put Variax on Input 1, I rarely if ever use the second input. 2) Plugged Variax into the included adapter to connect into PC, that fixed the issue. I expected to much from the updated compatibility with HD500 and didn't try that adapter. 3)Yeah I think I will probably stick to 2.10 for now. 4)I am not a pro at setups but I do set up all my guitars and did so on the Variax 600, it came "ok" but ended up being one of the better playing guitars I owned. I am planning on putting a new neck on if I keep it and should be a good start. The tremelo is sort of the same setup but a lot more sustain on the JTV, more mass.
  8. Hello I just sold off my Variax 600 and got the JTV-69, had to sell to fund the purchase and now really feel like I made a bad move. I knew what I was getting into as far as the playability and small nut spacing but what I did not know is a few quirky things that I am experiencing that never happened in the 4 years I owned my 600. 1) When VDI is connected to HD500 and I try and tune it will not registar at all. Using HD500 Edit software I ensured Variax was selected as input but still no dice. When I plug in the 1/4" and either select Guitar or Guitar/Variax it works fine, through the 1/4". 2) When running Variax to HD500 to Workbench HD and decide to experiment with pickups I get a horrendous squealing digital noise as a result. I move the model selector knob and it loads up a different model, no more noise. 3) I downgraded to Firmware 1.9 and while I can tell that the models were similar to my old 600 it was able to highlight some really nice complexities in the sounds, plus the palm muting was handy(more processing power). I think the new 2.10 models are good but not really better. You don't hear much ghost tracking noise I use to get, these overtoned notes, hard to describe but always drove me nuts when playing. But the above issues were present on the old firmware as well. 4) It seems like you have to have the action pretty high in order to get the piezos to work right. The old Variax 600 I had was the lowest action I was ever able to get, great neck on those things. So at this point I really miss my 600, dated as it may have been it was solid through and through. Anyone else have these issues?
  9. I had to put a small piece of electrical tape around the VDI cable on my old Variax 600 to get it to fit snug, worked like a sharm.
