About Me

I used to be a Line 6 artist a few years back, and have always had Line 6 hardware in all of my guitar rigs. I started with a UX1 and Pod Farm through my PC speakers, and also had an XT bean for a while after I bought some studio monitors. I did most of my first live shows using a few cheap Line 6 ToneCore stomp boxes - an Uber Metal and a Verbzilla - which I picked up for something silly like £25 a piece. I then picked up a first generation Pod Pro with it's huge pedalboard. I ran that through the power amp of whatever amp I could get my hands on. I then moved over to an HD147; I actually had a pair, one was in a live-in flight case with a 3u rack and one was a spare. I put a DBX 125 and a G50 wireless system in the rack and had awesome fun with that through a bomb-proof Basson 4x12 cabinet. I EASILY got Pantera levels to grinding distortion out of that rig - it was incredible. I then had a time where I used a Peavey XXX, and also has a Mesa Boogie Single Rectifier, which I paired with a Pod HD500 for a shirt while. More monster tone.

During my last bout of touring I was using a Pod HD Pro with an FBV Shortboard as my entire direct to FoH rig. It was awesome. I played guitar in an instrumental prog metal band which gained some acclaim, and I also had a signature series of guitars made by a small company in the USA. I made the switch to bass playing and used a Lowdown HD400 for a while, before becoming an artist for a massive German bass company.

I've been jamming on an Amplifi 75 on and off for a few years, and it when it worked it was great.. but I sometimes struggled with it's Bluetooth connection, which inevitably somewhat killed the vibe.

I used to be up to date and on the bleeding edge of Line 6 hardware, but I've been under a rock long enough that Helix completely passed me by. One lingering, truly awesome thing I remember from Line 6 was the DT series, so I've just picked up a DT25 Combo and a DT112 cabinet, now that they're DIRT cheap, with the aim being to amass an awesome pedalboard to go with it, and move away from modelling.

I love Line 6.
