  1. I currently run my digi003 rack as my recording interface, I run my pod analog into channel 1 in my digi rack, and assign it to a track. I monitor through my digi interface. So if I open edit while I have protools set up this way I should be able to hear changes made in edit realtime as I make them correct? I am only asking because I have just unboxed my hd500x I have not had time to sit and play with it yet. So I am just trying to get an idea of the best way to do things ahead of time.
  2. So If I go through Protools as I normally would and run edit separately, I can use edit to create my tones, and monitor through protools to hear the results I am getting? I prefer the graphical interface for tinkering with getting tones, than the tiny little pod screen.
  3. Well I have Spdif connectivity on my Protools interface, but the question is really if I record the dry signal can I reroute it digitally in real time to actually reamp the clean signal and be able to play with it directly? Why would thy not come up with a version of PODfarm for the HD unit. I mean my Mac has more than enough power to recreate the DSP power of an HD unit. I guess the better question to ask is, is there anywhere with a tutorial, and or instructions on how to set this up to work in this fashion, rather than me having to experiment for hours on end to try and get it to work in this fashion?
  4. Hello Everyone, please forgive if this is common knowledge already but I have looked all over and can not find the answer anywhere. I have for years used Pod Farm and my L6 Pod X3 together as my main guitar recording rig. I love the way it works, because I don't have to commit to a tone, and can change things up on the fly as I progress with recording a song. I recently purchased a POD HD500X which gets delivered tomorrow, and I am wondering if I will be able to utilize it with POD Farm the same way I currently do? If not is there any new software that will enable me to record in the same fashion I currently do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  5. Yeah, realized, but still give me the GUI i was looking for with the same tones as what are on my X3. for some reason all the new midi drivers cause gearbox, monkey, and authorization manager to run like crap on mac. Prior to the midi driver update everything opened instantaneously after launching. not I can wait up to 3 or 4 min before it actually launches. So I try not to go into monkey or gearbox if i can avoid it. But Pod farm is now installed and working great, so thanks again for the help.
  6. Thanks that is what i wanted to know. I have no need for a pedal board version since I would not be using it for live gigs. i only need it for home studio use, and the hd pro is more than I want to spend, so the HD desktop really fits what I need, I just needed to make sure it had the same models as the higher dollar models. now if they would just add the Ecstacy I would be sold.
  7. I am currently using a X3 desktop unit. I am considering upgrading but I am curious about a few things. 1st and foremost, what is the difference between the HD 500 and the 500X? is the modeling technology any different between the 2 units? I noticed the X has more amps listed. I would really like to go with the HD desktop version but I noticed it seems to be lacking in the Amp models. Do we know if there are plans to upgrade the quantity of models in the desktop to that of the 500X? I am sorely disappointed to see that the HD desktop doesn't contain the Bogner ecstasy or the SLO100 as these are currently my most used models. Any of you who have the HD units already, how realistic is the feel of the models? The biggest thing i feel is missing from the X3 is the, for lack of a better term, punch, and almost bouncy sound of a glass tube vibrating with in a real tube amp. I know that probably doesn't make any sense, but I know what i mean lol.
  8. Agreed, Thanks for the help much appreciated!!
  9. ok so next question, i downloaded and installed the free version of pod farm 2.5. if i now install the old pod farm, will it work or am i going to have to dig through all my folders and uninstall the pod farm2.5? as ps, my x3 didn't pay for the model packs, i did. lol so i own em damn it!!!!!! ;)
  10. Ok sO forgive me if this has been answered a million times over already, but I am curious about something. I own a Pod X3 with all model packs, I know back in Pod farm 1 it was included with the pod X3 at no cost. I never used it because my computer sucked and it would not run correctly. I now have a new computer, and wanted to use pod farm, but what I am having an issue with is if I already spent my money purchasing the model pack for my x3 why on earth would I want to, or better yet should I have to spend 300 on purchasing pod farm platinum???? I know some of you will say why do you need pod farm if you already have the x3, but it is just a weird visual thing. When I am recording I sometimes want that visual interface rather than reach over to my X3 every time I want to make a change. is there not a pod farm for X3 owners who have already purchase model packs? Any help would be appreciated.
