  1. Gonna buy a FBV 3 - but I think I remember the long floorboard had a loop function. Dunno. Any way of achieving this. Ta. (I've just started 3 topics without searching first. My football team won tonight. Brisbane Lions (the women - the men suck) and I won a hunjy on them. Drinking wine and watching Queen/Muse videos with my son who's on the tropical juices (he's 7) So cut me some slack...…… please. Ta. Again.
  2. Just that. Can anyone recommend headphones for silent practice? Ones that don't sound thin etc? Don't need the $600 bose version..... (not baggin' bose…) Just a good entry / mid range level that may be a standard that I don't know about. Thanks.
  3. G'day all. I've had a real love hate relationship with Line 6 for 15 odd years now. Mostly love - but I've (and I'm blaming the craftsman / not his tools) always found it hard - real hard - to find a thick fat NON DIGITAL distortion. Cannot fault anything else. Amazing products and innovations. Now - my dilemma. We (myself and Line 6) aren't complete muppets. I was running the mobile pod app through an IK multimedia iloud and even the default free presets sounded amazing. Fat. Non buzzy. Non digital. But every amp I've owned I've struggled with. I just bought a 75 asa practice amp - and love it. The whole concept is killer. So; can someone suggest; send; advise; learn me a great distortion as well as overdrive for rock? I went through the presets and from a clean point of view; the Jazz ones are great. I'm so impressed with the amp that I'm getting an FBV 3 and will probably use it for rehearsals; the home studio jams and party gigs. So really need to get the sounds right. Cheers.
  4. What gives? I had a pod hd500 and dt 25 and got tone in between. The dt channel IV on its own waa great. Emulate this on the pod - and it sucked tone. Cleans not warm. So sold it all and gave up... BUT - a year ago I bought an iloud speaker and use the mobile pod (free!!!!) and it sounds AWESOME. Thick tones. Just fat and juicy. So - last week I bought a line 6 wireless mic (not anti live 6 I hope this shows) and went - stuff it - bought the Amplifi tt and a express pedalboard (the 4 button one) going - they've finally got times great. But I'm back to super digital sounding buzzy distortions. All of them. Some of the overdrives are ok - but still digital. Any comments here? I'm running through the clean channel of a Marshall jtm 60 - but get the same result through my pa Having said that - my black star hit Dual pedal with a valve in it is sane super fat through the emulated output into the mixer. No digital here other than the emulated output. Just writing this as a comparison. Id be interested in any feedback. The sounds I'm getting as both the factory presets and off the Amplifi app are unusable they're that bad. Back to my mobile pod / iloud.

  6. Hi all.... Do you plug the POD straight into the Mac? Or do you need an interface? I run the pod farm iPad ap with the sonic port and audio us - but have never used the 500x (or a Mac) Cheers.
  7. Howdy all I absolutely love the sound of my DT25 standalone; but with my HD 500 I hate it.... So I've got my favorite analoge pedals (MI Audio crunch box, Boost n Buff (through the effects loop for a volume increase) and GI Fuzz for my Muse stuff) and just want the M9 for Delays. reverbs and, um, effects. and the looper... but I want it loop the sound of my DT - not the distortion effects within the M9. and can I continue to use my Boost n Buff also within the DT's effects loop for my solo increases??? Cheers.
  8. Thanks for all the replies guys - finally replying on Chrissy eve - so Merry Christmas. Hope everyone gets their favourite Guitar; Amp; Pedal off Santa. I've asked for some talent. I want to be clear I'm not talking EQ or 'tone' I'm talking 'sound' The DT down low or the same settings /EQ with the band sound the same. The pod (to me) suddenly sounded super digital and fuzzy - not fat; after sounding like the channel IV of the DT at lower volumes. I'm sticking with the DT. Just bought an MI AUDIO crunch box for my AC DC and Angels um, crunch sounds and a Boost N Buff to run through the loop for solo boosts. Thanks to Line 6 for realising not everyone will run a pod and gave us 'standard' options on the amp. Foot switch; effects loop etc. Actually; whilst I think of it - isn't there an update option to give you all four channels? Is there a pedal that gives you access to this once updated??? Cheers all.
  9. And would anyone have a suggestion of what the settings are for the DT Channel IV so as to emulate them in the POD???? Cheers
  10. Ive got a Hughes and Kettner Grandmeister that is set up as my go to amp in the lounge (cause it looks great) and a brand new mini Marshall JVM that I'm fooling around with a lot. So the Line 6 2/500 line up hasn't seen the light of day for a while. I had band camp today; so last week I pulled it all out and tweeked a few tones with The L6 Link set up. My main distortion sound is an Angel something with a V30 cab. I've also got a treadplate for heavier, scooped fatter stuff. So; I'm happy with my tones at loud bedroom level - but playing at rehearsal volumes it was unusable. Everything went fuzzy; thin, digital and gritty. Bang your head against the wall stuff - and my band asking the drummer to play louder to drown me out. But I unplug it all and play at that volume through the DT (Channel IV) and itd back to smooth; tight; thick creamy and fat. Ok. I can't type WTF here because I'm a guitarist and a gentleman - so what thuf HUCK gives???? Any suggestions??? As soon as I use the POD for flexibility I lose the tone of the DT. Help.....
  11. As usual - sorry if this has been answered.... Flick me the thread. I'm having an issue with the looper in pre/post mode. I've never had an issue before. Put it in post - record, out of the looper, change patch and play overt heron over the new sound. But now the original is insanely louder when I switch to a new sound (as per. The instruction manual but it says the following.... Note: If you record your Loop in POST mode and then switch to PRE for Loop playback, this results in the current Amp+FX to be applied to the Loop playback (where the Loop was already recorded with Amp+FX applied). Be aware that this can cause the Loop playback to be significantly louder! I'm not recording in post and then switching to pre...... So what gives???? Cheers.
  12. Irig blueboard. Have a google all..... Will this go with the ap/amp?
  13. I recently bought a small Yamaha studio monitor to take on the road into my hotel rooms as a salesman; and run the pod app through my iPhone/iPad - and use audiobus to connect to amplitude so that I can run backing tracks in there and loop solo parts for practice. So this amp looks PERFECT........looks good too. So if they're making a 150w version loud enough for the stage; you reckon they'll release a customised floorboard pedal run off batteries and bluetoothed to the iPad??? Leave your iPhone in ya pocket - and just run amp and pedal wirelessly...... Any thoughts??? Or just by a DT and pod (which I have...) (BTW - JTV 89F in blood red a week from entering Australia..... 1st one in the country and it's mine.....)
  14. I've realised if I turn the master all the way to full on the pod I get all my gain back.... Insert smiley face her but a little disappointed I've essentially lost my volume knob s you have to run it permanently at 11. But - everything running now as it should....
  15. Now running my 500x through the front of my Hughes and Keetner a tubemeister 36 head (H&K v30 2x12 cab - 2nd one to come.) I love the L6 stuff - really -have the only JTV89F Variax in blood red in Australia on order. 3 weeks away....) Hence needing the 500x. Buuuut I hate the pod. So sacked the DT. I loooooove channel IV through the DT and can get close trying to emulate the same sound through the pod. I even thought I could set up a patch with the amp sims disabled so I had one of the actual DT, but I got it wrong: you can't. But now I've running the H&K via midi (thank you L6 - & H&K) with my pod. Great effects, tuner, patches. (Did you guys all know the pod could do this?????!!!!) But now I have patches with Just the H&K tube tone.... (But can add delay, reverb etc etc...on fs 1 to 4) I'm so happy I could listen to a full Coldplay album. (But just once.) Only problem is I'm losing gain.... I've experimented with the screamer and other distortion models as a booster but they still make the natural tube sound of the H&K more digital (to my ears) Any suggestions for a natural non colouring booster that I can run permanently through the loop? I'd have it on all the time but when I select the H&K patch I'd select the loop on (can you even do that?) Cheers all.. 3 weeks till my Variax. 6 weeks for my bare knuckles to go in it........
  16. Selecting a channel, topology, pentode/triode selection, EQ, etc etc on the DT and then used edit to disable the amp modelling and cab; thus having a patch that gives you an eg. Channel IV straight out of the amp. You can still adjust the channel volume level so I did two of them, one slightly higher than the other. Any thoughts?
  17. Yeah - topology. I'm sure (I might be wrong so I'm not sure) I saw the Treadplate was channel IV. IV is just the fattest heaviest topology out there - so just surprised.
  18. Thanks all. Any comments on the single channel IV model though after the update?
  19. The Angel whatever it is. The Treadplate is now a channel 3 model after I did the firmware update. Anyone notice that? Also - can you use 500 patches from custom tone on a 500x? There's not a single patch for the x yet..... I might have held off buying one for a bit if I knew this. Good news though - there's only 1 JTV 89F in blood red in the country and I'm ordering it today. Go me......
  20. As usual, I have to take an IOU. Ray from Ray's music exchange. As usual, NEVER forget to do your update to the latest firmware - even on a brand new out of the box 500x. I now have a master volume on the board...... (Insert roll eyes here)
  21. What gives - I'm obviously doing something wrong if its the same on both units.... Cheers.
  22. Disney... Insert Homer drooling here. Imagine taking your dream rig and playing it AT Disney. Whilst on a roller coaster. While having the sexy time..... Where THUF HUCK are the smiley faces.... And thanks radatats....
  23. To restart this thread, I'm looking at putting in Bare Knuckle Pickups in - particularly an humbucker sized P90. Any reason I shouldn't do this?? Do I need to be able to coil split for the modelling???
