  1. So to be clearer... Is there a way to break out the USB MIDI into 5-pin DIN MIDI? Can a given switch send more than one command (i.e., PC, followed by CC, followed by CC)... Any thoughts?
  2. Potentially dumb question: Is there any way to use the Shortboard as a proper MIDI controller, independent of any Line 6 heads or amps? I have a SBM2 for my Pod HD Pro, and I would like to use it WITHOUT THE HD PRO to control my (non-Line 6) MIDI amp, because, quite frankly, it might be the best MIDI footpedal I've ever owned (and I have owned a few). If I can do that, then my next question is, can I program multiple commands into the switches? I would want to send a PC followed by a series of CC commands. Any help or insight is MOST welcome. Thanks! Joe
  3. It's time for Line 6 to create a wireless conversion that includes a transmitter that attaches to my favorite (otherwise wired) mic and a receiver to plug into my board. Discuss. Joe
  4. There's a lot of missing information here: can you tell us which DMX controller you're running? And do you know what kind on MIDI strings it will respond to (I.e., PC, CC, etc)? Joe
  5. There are also MIDI-driven amp switchers out there that you might be able to control as part of a POD patch. Not the cheapest solution, but a solution nonetheless. Joe
  6. Has nayone out there had any experience using MIDI foot controllers with the POD HD-Pros? I'm looking for pointers. I have a fair bit of experience with MIDI (my favorite rig is still my fully-prgramed MIDI-driven rack system), I'm just looking for pointers. Ideally, I'd love to be able to trigger individual effects from the floor, but I am willing to build out a full patch-by-pedal approach, if that is my only option. Thanks all! Joe
  7. I'll try rolling the tone knob back a bit. That said, neither my 300 nor my 500 have nearly as much low-end girth as my Les Paul. Maybe I'll try a string change too. @hurghanico, there's an HD update? For the 300/500? I'll have to check that out as well Thanks all!
  8. All, For years, I have struggled with an issue with both of my Variaxes: They seem to have a restricted frequency range, and in particular, they have a definite cut-off at around 90Hz. This becomes a problem when switching betweem the VAX and a traditional instrument, in that the traditional guitar suddenly seems bigger, boomier, and generally louder. Has anyone else noticed this? I can't go from VAX to Les Paul live without somne sort of EQ change, and it's a reall PITA. Is there a soluton? I'm asking here rather than log a ticket, but I will do that if I have to. Any help? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Joe
