  1. I saw some old posts that some guys had managed to build a diy charger for g10/g10ii transmitters. That way you can use any usb port to charge the transmitters. I've given it a go myself by cutting the lead to a 5v usb and soldering hot (red) to the tip and ground (black) to the ring portion of a mono cable. It didn't work.. Anyone know if this wont work because I need a stereo female jack? I appreciate anyone giving me info on how the g10 takes a charge. I understand all of this is at my own risk.
  2. @jws1982 They don't offer the cable any more. can you help me to make one diy? Is all I need a usb cable and a trs connector? id appreciate any details pictures or schematics you could show me of your home made g-10t charging cable. thanks @a2dconverterguyit also looks like you made such a cable, can you give me any details? thanks guys.
  3. Yes I agree this is a possible concern. will update my disclaimer. thanks
  4. PierM, yes it's just proof of concept, but click the link and you can see it in action on Youtube with the midi in function working. Would love everyone's opinion and votes or replication of interest polls so this can be done properly.
  5. FIRST THE DISCLAIMER: THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL AND PROOF OF CONCEPT THREAD. IF YOU DECIDE TO WIRE THIS YOU AGREE TO ALL THE RISKS INVOLVED AND THAT YOU ARE PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENCES. EXPECT YOUR WARRANTY FOR BOTH THE VARIAX AND THE WIDIMASTER TO BE VOIDED IF ANYTHING HAPPENS. IT'S NOT KNOWN LONG TERM IF THERE ARE ANY NEGATIVES SO BE CAREFUL AND KNOW THAT ALL ACTIONS YOU TAKE ARE YOUR OWN AND YOU TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF YOUR EQUIPMENT AND ACTIONS. thanks. Forum members of the group I belong to are currently seeking more expert eyes to understand and enhance reliability, safety, and enhance functionality. maybe even full control midi and aes in the future.. So.. I'm over at the Line 6 Variax worldwide family on Facebook and found out that an enterprising member has achieved wireless vdi *no audio just control... using a neutrik to widimaster conversion wiring scheme on a standard widimaster. That's right Variax loyalists.. you can potenially use any wireless bluetooth midi controller to change the tuning and guitars on your jtv/standard Variax. video demo from user and the one who implemented this fix on their Shiruken, Christian Graffe To be honest I don't understand it, but I want one 5 years ago! We are currently asking for forum members to vote for CME to make an official version, so I figure the more votes, the more this becomes reality. So please sign up and vote. Another route is someone smarter than me could put one together based off the schematics provided by the original innovator in this thread. It is supposed to cost only the widi master dongle which is 50 bucks and a neutrik connector. wiring* is here https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=13484.msg259727#msg259727 *keep in mind this is only midi in, so you cannot have any two way communication or audio, but you can use your g10 or other wireless to activate power to it and to go totally wireless, audio through 1/4 in output and midi in control through the widi jack. One way or another this HAS to happen. keep me in the loop and please don't bombard the guy with requests to build one. Meanwhile I'm going to build one next week. NOW
  6. I had the same thing happen. If you call support they'll tell you you can order the part to replace it..15 dollars shipped from Full Compass. I am trying to think of ways to have the part made into metal. Any ideas? Ours broke in the middle of a gig because I was using slightly larger Eneloop rechargable batteries. Its poor design, but perhaps we can improve upon it as a community... info for those of you needing the Chassis replacement: part: 97-000-0023 CASE ASSY W/BATT COVER TBP06 Full compass number: 608-831-7330 price: 12.00
  7. Just some of my thoughts to add to this salvo. No it's not hd it's not dt. I have a DT and an HD though as well as a sonic port. It is definitely Pod farm, same models and other forum posts have said that it draws from the pod farm cloud. Though you can't run dual amps.. Remember that Pod farm is studio grade. As far as Android Iphone, the topic. I know it's extra money, but a good option for some may be to use a gen 2 or newer ipod touch, which you can snag for around 50-80 bucks. As long as you got the latest ios running on it, you'll have full control. Just providing an option. I am also interested if anyone out there has figured out how to use the apple devkit emulator to communicate with amplifi.
  8. I was surfing the web and found about these: http://www.jetcityamplification.com/#!retrovalves/ctjr they're 12ax 7 tube replacements. Anyone have any comments on these? Might offer new tonal possibilities. TTK says that using the red series is like throwing a tube screamer in front of your amp... http://thetoneking.com/wp/retrovalves-by-jet-city-full-demo-review-blue-amber-red-retro-valves/ love to know if anyone has experience

  10. I have heard that the Amplifi is a FR system, will using a bass through the amp damage it in any way? If not, what are the disadvantages or advantages of using a bass guitar with it? thanks line 6. keep up the amazing work
  11. I have made my own poster for jtv-59 users since the pickup selection switch also involves pushing the tone knob. Enjoy.
