Dear all, i am using my Helix Line 6 in front of my blackstar HT-Club 40 Mkii. I want a simple set up, with all my presets programmed and ready to go for gigs withouth needing to fiddle! I love the tone of the blackstar preamp which is why i have set it up this way. I have tried teh 4CM (correctly :) ) but the preamp sounds different - i cant seem to get the same tone. I have tried directly into the return of my amp, but again the sound is not quite what i want. So I have stuck with the Helix in front of the amp, and sound wise it does exactly what i need. BUT, i cannot get any of the methods of boosting volume or gain to work for solos. I have tried every method, but only get a boost of probably 1-2 db even when i have it maxed out on +12db. I have tried different positions, different techniqes (e.g. ouput level increase, EQ, gain pedal, clean boost model) but NOTHING seems to work. I have tried a clean boost in the Helix FX loop - still doesnt work as it should. The only way i can get a boost with the helix in front of the amp, is to put an external boost pedal in the amp's effects loop. But then this means tap dancing when i do a solo (to hit my solo snapshot on helix AND the external pedal) which the whole point for me of having a helix was to prevent tap dancing. This has been driving me mad for months. Can anyone please please help? Many thanks Nigel

Hello, as a Helix newbie (former boss gt-1000), am very pleased with it so far. At the moment I am using it in front of the amp with my blackstar HT-club 40 combo and extension cabinet as i love the preamp sound of the blackstar. i have a few gigs coming up so, planning to use the 4CM once they are out of they way and i have some time so i can keep the BS preamp sound, and benefit from the amp modelling in the helix - whereas at the moment i am really using it as a pedal board. The external amp switch works fine, first time. BUT, when i save all the snapshots (e.g. clean, dirty etc) they initially work fine. However, later at band practice i plug in, the amp switch setting for the snapshot has changed. dirty becomes clean and vice versa - when i assign the footswith (and light) to be on when dirty - it is now the opposite. and i have to go through every preset and re-save. Then, you guessed it, i get home, and the same thing happens only now the channel switch changes again, and lit means the clean rather than dirty channel. Am using a TRS cable and the blackstar has additional reverb and voice settings that can be controlled by TRS but i dont what that just simple channel switch (i.e. ring). This is driving me nuts, if anyone can help or offer a suggestion i would greatly appreciate it all the best Nigel

Newbie questions on this amazing piece of gear I've had for almost a week. Running Helix through my "Cab" and bypassing cab's preamp I have a Hughes and Kettner 2x12 Switchblade combo that I'd like to use for jamming/practicing, but want to use Helix preamp/amp modeling for tone coloration. Need help on proper setup to bypass Hughes and Kettner preamp, as well as any info on proper block or setting configuration within Helix interface. For Recording: Can I use Helix as the audio "Input" and my UA Apollo Twin as the "output" for monitoring connected via Yamaha HS8's? Would prefer to use the Apollo Twin as primary soundcard but running into gain staging/weak input-output volume issues with this setup. Not sure if it's best to connect the Yamaha's to the Helix XLR outputs to use Helix as the soundcard? Does anyone use Helix with their existing audio interface and/or is this just pointless? Thank you!
