sdeverall
I've been playing my jtv59 for about a week now and I absolutely love it...But I have been noticing some latency issues with certain combos of guitar models plus certain tunings. For instance, almost all acoustic models combined with drop D gives me a delay that is annoying at best. With most of the electric guitar models, alt things are usable, but on acoustics, especially twelve strings, it's basically unusable. Is this something wrong with my 59, or is this something that I just need to live with??? Fyi, I'm also using an Amplifi 75, could that be introducing more latency somehow?? antyfood
I have also experianced some latency using JTV 59 with my Zoom G3. Interestingly, there were no latency with my POD HD 500. May be it's related with certain effect type?
clay-man
12 strings and alt tunings both use pitch shifting events to transpose the notes. All pitch shifters have latency, whether it be a lot or a little. However, since you're doing alt tuning AND 12 string, there is a possibility that they're 2 separate events, hence doubling the latency. You can try to mess with firmware updates, maybe the newer firmwares have improved latency. Make sure that if you're using a DAW that the latency on your DAW is at minimum as well, or else you're adding even more latency.
sdeverall
Hmmm... You gave me an idea. I just realized I haven't tried using the digital cable yet, I'll have to see if that helps at all.
