FBV Express MKII USB Midi LED Feedback

Hi folks

I am currently using the FBV Express MKII pedal to control some software on my laptop (NI Reaktor and Plogue Bidule). It works great for sending MIDI to the laptop, but I was surprised to find that it doesn't seem to recieve MIDI from the laptop.

To give an example: one footswitch controls delay on/off, another controls distortion on/off. It would be great if by just looking down on the pedal, I could see whether the delay or distortion is on or off.

I've read through the manual, and it seems to suggest that the MIDI in on the FBV is only used by the software and Line6 seems to say that there is no use for sending MIDI to the FBV.

I would have thought that by sending the same controller values via MIDI to the FBV as it is sending out, I could control the LEDs on the FBV. Is this not possible?

If not, is this something that Line6 could address in a firmware update?

No, the FBV does not have MIDI capability - it is just a controller/switchbox.

It clearly does have MIDI capability (over USB), as it shows up as midi ports on my laptop. And it clearly has the capability of recieving MIDI, since that is how the editor works. It just doesn't seem to be able to use the midi in to change the state of the LEDs. This should surely be an easy thing for Line6 to implement in a firmware update.

No, it really doesnt have MIDI capability, despite what the Line 6 manual for FBV Control - the software that does the real work - says (http://line6.com/data/l/0a060072178e54aa1904ecce5c/application/pdf/FBV%20Control%20Application%20Basic%20User%20Guide%20(Rev%20A)%20-%20English.pdf)

If it did, then you wouldn't need FBV Control to use it.
