leesteel
Is anyone using both of these together? If so, I would be interested in how you configured it. FX Loop? HD into M5? What about the midi part? If you set it up as an FX loop, and if midi in the HD can tell the M5 what patch to call up, then the loop can be located anywhere in the chain for any given patch. I anxiously await some advice. TheRealZap
i used to have that setup..... super easy! a couple of midi cables.... a couple of 1/4" TS cables and an insert cable (1/4" TRS to 2 1/4" TS) then just dial in the m5 and save your tone... next time you switch to that tone the m5 will go to that preset. surprisingly easy. TheRealZap
i used it primarily to take the reverb load off and free up the DSP... being that reverb was last in the chain it also freed up an additional block because the m5 can have the noisegate on too. once i was able to do the reverb independently on the DT amps, i didn't need the setup any more.
leesteel
OK Zap, why a pair of TS AND an Insert cable?
leesteel
DUH, I see, TRS to LR for the send AND a pair of TS for the returns.
TheRealZap
yes, only if you want to maintain stereo.. i assume it would revert to mono if you don't...(didnt try)
