billlorentzen
I've got a problem where if I push hard on the expression pedal it cuts out all output, even the mini plug input program material. When it first started, it was only happening when I engaged the wah. The hard push did it. I started using my old cry baby to get around that, but lately it's happened just pushing the pedal forward hard. The thing is, I use the pedal constantly. Every one of my patches uses it, so I can't play four sets lollipop footing the whole time. Oh, and it's intermittent. It doesn't happen all the time. I can't get it to happen at home! Any ideas? duncann
Without starting to look at the guts of it, maybe try spraying some compressed air underneath, into the hole. Unlikely though. The pushing hard on it might be a clue as to a short being triggered on a pcb that might be underneath. You could try disassembling the housing to take a look. Taking the pod's casing apart isn't really that difficult. But then again, you can't get it to work at home you say. Is the floor the pod is placed on different at your house from elsewhere? billlorentzen
I'm afraid it's probably a circuit board or other internal short. I play a lot of outdoor gigs and the humidity can be pretty high, which might exacerbate it, although I had the problem during the winter too. I carry it in a fight case, and it does flex when I push down hard for the wah. I took it apart and repaired the big data pot on the left one time. It's not too formidable inside compared to some of the things I've dealt with, but my chops are limited to fixing things I can see - I don't know how to find component level problems. But this would seem to be something I might be able to find and fix with a soldering iron. Wish me luck!
billlorentzen
given the intensive use, I imagine that the toe switch operated by the pedal is very worn, and when pressed quickly with force fails to complete its move back to the starting point, leaving the POD in an undefined state ..I believe that its replacement should probably solve the problem Nico, when I think about it, you might be right about this. That's a smart suggestion!
