Spider Valve 1 + FBV ver 1 controller. Channel Volume changes when using wah

Hello, I recently acquired a used Spyder Valve 1x12 and FBV foot controller both version 1. Everything seems OK except when I use the wah and then turn it off, my selected channel volume is much louder. Anyone experienced this? I tried the standard FBV pedal calibration method (hold down D channel and power on) but this does not appear to work with FBV version 1. Any ideas? It is very annoying when trying to use the setup for a live gig situation.
