row_row71291
Hi, I own a line 6 spider 3. Can I use the line 6 helix with it? Or do I need to buy am amp with just a clean sound?
sbens
I seem to recall there was some trick to put the Spider III into DSP bypass mode (maybe holding the TAP button during power up?). Or you could run the output of the Helix to the CD/MP3 In on the Spider.
shawnmx
If the Spider has an effects loop, you could set the amp to a "clean" setting and use the Helix thru the loop. If it doesn't, your only option would be to run the Helix in front of the amp (guitar >> Helix >> Spider). That's technically possible but it probably won't yield the best results. (Still, you can try it out and see what you think.) Overall, if the Spider doesn't have the loop, you may want to switch a different amp that does have one.
