darrylhebert
My Helix is arriving this week. I'm tired of pedals and amps. My setup time will be half. I play keys + guitar. I'd like to have my guitar route thru the guitar input and out XLR left. I would then like to have my Kronos 88 keyboard use SPDIF out to SPDIF in of the Helix, then have that signal go out XLR right of the Helix (no processing necessary, just straight thru). I could just use the Aux in of the Helix, but would like to use the digital connection. Anyone know if this kind of routing is possible? The manual isn't much help in this regard. Would the stereo signal coming into the SPDIF input on the Helix be summed to mono if it was able to go out XLR right? thx!
Digital_Igloo
No problem, and everything should be in stereo. You will, however, need to use at least one of the four stereo paths to route S/PDIF directly to the XLRs. The other three can be dedicated for your guitar. Then later, if you feel like running Helix blocks (or program changes or MIDI bass pedals) on your Kronos, it's ready to go.
mdmayfield
If I may expand on the general idea- This is something a lot of people might start doing, dedicating a path for a pass-through (with or without processing) for things like keys or mic. I can imagine it might be a chore, say if you wanted to change an EQ setting on the pass-through path (keys/mic/etc.) but have a couple dozen guitar patches set up. We'd have to change every single one of the presets. Might there be a fast & convenient way of setting this up, such as: (Ideal) "Hold" path 2 while switching presets on path 1 (OK) Copy and paste a complete path (1 or 2) instead of just one block at a time ?
