ZibeX
hey guys, just installed HD metal pack and noticed that only Panama, Mahadeva and Brit are full packs wit power amp+Cab where you can tweak all details.rest have no power amp.then in section with just pre amps I got only mentioned three available. Does it mean that all inc for example Big bottom are available only as pre - despite sitting in list together with full stack? bloody confusing and I think I am getting mental?? duncann
The amps without the power amp section are ported from an older device, can't remember which one, xt live maybe? Anyway, they are also inventions of Line 6 and don't exist in the real world, so there is no power amp to model with these.
shredjsx
View them as full amps, just because they say "pre" only means a few tweeks won't be there, but you're ok
BillBee
The Big Bottom can do metal really well. My fave from the XT/X3 series.
shredjsx
several of the L6 amp creations are made by mixing and matching parts of amps (or distortions fx, pre-amps) with parts of different amps, thus giving more tonal options than you could get from vintage gear alone.. L6 Big Bottom is made by crossing a Boogie Triple Rectifier with a Rivera Los Lobottom sub rig, L6 Insane is a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier being used as a preamp for a Soldano, L6 Purge is a hot-rodded Marshall JMP-1 preamp, L6 Octone is an Octave Distortion into a Class A poweramp, L6 Aggro has the mid control which can be used as a morphing control to go gradually from a Fuzz pedal to a Soldano and finally to a Vox type tone, L6 Variac'ed Plexi is a Marshall Plexi with a Variac transformer used to lower the voltage sent to it (brown sound), L6 Smash seems to be an amp built from scratch OMG thank you for that info, it explains more why I'm starting to like and use the line 6 designed amps, and gives me more knowledge to tweek.... Thank you
