twilightform
I've had my unit since late 2011. It's been working fine since then, until 2 weeks ago. I was just adjusting an effect on one of my presets when it suddenly became completely unresponsive. The entire device turns on with flashing tempo light and everything, but the screen froze completely and I can't get a sound out of it. It's still stuck on the same setting, and it doesn't seem to register anything I do- pressing buttons, footswitches, turning knobs. I've tried turning it off and on several times, updating it via Monkey, and finally just letting it sit for about a week to no avail. I opened up the back and found something that looks like corrosion on the circuit board near the guitar input. I've attached a photo to this post. I don't know for sure if this has anything to do with it, but I thought it looked suspicious. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? I don't know if this happened because of age or if I somehow overloaded the processor or something. I guess the next logical thing to do is contact customer service, but is there a chance I might have to get a new Pod HD500 entirely? Brazzy
That's insane. Maybe something cooked. You might be looking at buying a new one. Have you tried to contact Line 6. It's a long shot but you should ask Line 6 if there is some way of diagnosing it.
twilightform
Not yet, but like I said, that's what I'm going to do next.

twilightform
Okay, I just tried to operate it in safe mode by holding the 4-way directional pad to the left while turning it on and it started working! I don't know what happened, but it's back to normal now. Thanks for your help!
