rockonrush
Hello! I just got my PodHD500X. I've been using the 4 cable method and it's working great for fx and such, but I want to use one other feature, and I'm not sure if it exists. I have the older Peavey XXX head, going into my mesa. It stupidly has a 6-pin midi cable for the footswitch commands to switch channels. So I'd have to go buy a pedal specifically designed for it, or I'd have to somehow solder a 6-pin to 7-pin custom setup to go to my line 6. My main question is: Can I somehow use the 4 cable method to completely bypass my Peavey, and just use my Pod with a clean amp sim and use that as my "channel switch" instead? phil_m
If you want to completely bypass the Peavey's preamp, you don't need to use the 4CM. Just go straight from the HD500X's output into the Peavey's effects return. This way, the HD500X is completely taking the place of the Peavey's preamp. If you're saying you want to use the Peavey's preamp sometimes and not others, you can still do that with the 4CM. In the patches where you want to use the amp's preamp, leave the FX loop block on, and in ones where you want to use the amp model on the HD500X, turn the FX loop block off. jeremybnz
NB: It needs to be a serial effects loop or a parallel one where you can set it at 100% mix to use it effectively as a power amp only.
rockonrush
Awesome. That's pretty simple. Thanks so much!
