yigba
Just have a simple question: Is there still supposed o be a fairly noticeable lag after updating the firmware to 1.20? I'm not certain what it was before as I just got the unit yesterday and immediately updated it to 1.10 first, then 1.20. Both updates were processed seemingly fine by the unit. But as I switched presets and/or the effects in the presets there is still a noticeable lag - way too much for me for using it live, which is how I planned to use it. What is the lag supposed to be after the 1.20 update - roughly half a second, 1/3 of a second, etc.???? Because mine is probably around 300 or 400 milliseconds. That's too long for my purposes. mcbeddall
It's quicker when your not connected to the app My worst switch is 300mS and best is 100mS I haven't measured it but I'm good at guessing
yigba
I'm really looking at a few milliseconds as far as my needs are concerned. Oh well, back it goes I guess.
TriPPleX
yigba, you are experiencing the same thing we all ran into, but just consider this, when you are playing with the band, the 1/2 second patch change isn't as bad as it sounds. I change from clean to dirty and back over and over and I'm also switching from bridge to neck pickups at the same time. Take the song from Pop Evil, Torn to Pieces, I thought I would never get the transitions on time, then add the fact there is a delay, oh my. After a couple times through with the band, it all came together and sounds great. Stomps on and off, on the same patch shouldn't be noticeable, just changing from patch to patch takes some practice to make smooth. Just food for thought for ya, I was in the same place as you, I'm sure lots of us were. If you are playing by yourself, yea, it might be more than you care to have, with the rest of the band playing, no one really notices. yigba
That's a fair assessment. I'll give it a whirl at rehearsal first and see how it goes. Thanks for the input.
mcbeddall
The zoom g5 is the only pedal I've used that's as quick as you need, it has a 2 millisecond patch change but the amp models are not as good as the firehawk, effects were pretty good though
