soundog
I've got a MIDI footswitch that I want to use instead of built-in pedal switches to toggle an FX block on and off, just like using the Bypass button or the built-ins. I can program the button to send any MIDI commands. Using Minotaur distortion as an example, its easy enough to assign my footswitch controller, but I only have selectable parameters such as gain, tone, and level. Can't I set up like to behave like one of the built-in toggle switches? I see that there are reserved "emulation" CCs for each footswitch (for example, CC#49 for footswitch 1). Any reason why I can't just do it that way?
soundog
OK, answered my own question. Using the emulation CC's works fine. External footswitches can emulate the onboard buttons. Duh. Just can't use the "learn controller." Instead, assign the footswitches as though you are using the onboard buttons.
