markwesse
Im wanting to make use of the looper switches...is there anyway to disable or remove the looper block but keep the switches? Some wierd back door rom option? Anything? The reason why is I want to replace the fcb1010 and integrate the HD500 into my current rig (check here and it might make more sense) http://line6.com/support/topic/21183-pod-hd-support-still-going-or-done/?p=160952 Cheers Mark
rd2rk
You can use the looper switches to send MIDI, but the type/CC#s are fixed. See Advanced User Guide Appendix B.2. Thanks to jamsden for the following: There's no magic. Using the HD500 Editor app, you can assign MIDI messages to the 8 footswitches. But you'll also notice in the HD500 doc that when in Looper mode, the 7 of the 8 footswitches send a fixed MIDI message. FS4 is the only exception, it sends the same MIDI message in either mode and I suspect this is a bug because FS4 is suppose to turn the Looper block of and on, but doesn't. You can't change these Looper MIDI messages, but you can use them in apps like MainStage to control the MainStage looper or anything else. Just map the fixed MIDI messages to the controls/parameters in the computer app. You enter Looper mode on the HD500 by pressing the dedicated Loop footswitch. There does have to be a Looper block in your patch for the Loop footswitch to put the pedal in looper mode. So you need to turn the looper volume all the way down so it doesn't conflict with whatever you are using the extra footswitches for. This works great and gives you a total of 15 footswitches for MIDI messages.jamsden
