watch4king
Hey guys, I have looked through the forums and found a guy making some nice VDI cables sometime ago but I guess he is no longer around. Can you guys recommend a source? The ones I saw from Line6 look like regular Cat5 cable and not very sturdy. I'd like to get something to use when playing live. Charlie_Watt
I got mine from Besttronics. Very well made. They make great regular guitar cables too.

Charlie_Watt
The label on my cable is 98-030-004-015 . I have had it for about 4 years but I assume they still make them. Give them a call if you can't find it on their site. BTPA.com
edstrat10
Does their cable recharge the Variax battery as well?
davidb7170
No, the VDI powers the guitar, but does not charge the battery. I hate batteries, but keep a charged one in my guitar case. Had to use it one time when my VDI cable wouldn't plug in. Must have stepped on the end of it. Replaced the cable. Had my 59 since 2011, and my 69S since 2012. Charlie_Watt
The Variax battery cannot be charged while in the guitar. It is a Lithium cell and it requires a special charger.
