plasma327
Hello, I purchased a POD XT PRO new in the box believe that, for cheap. I have been able to sync with monkey and do all the updating drivers etc..... I went to custom tone and down loaded some tones i think i might like. For the life of me I do not know what software to use as an editor. I have a Win 10 PC and on line 6 download page it will not let me download line 6 edit, gearbox, ???? I do not know what to use, Help? Is the XT pro so old all the older editing software has no win 10 support?
silverhead
I think you will be able to download Line 6 Edit if you choose Windows 7 as the operating system in the downloads page. From what I understand it operates just fine in Win 10 once you've downloaded and installed it, though I haven't done this myself - just going from reports I've read here. plasma327
Silverhead, Just as you said!! Downloaded using win7 format and edit works perfect. More questions for you if you do not mind. I down loaded some tones i wanted to try out. I am being told i need expansion pack to properly use the tones Not a big deal but how do i know which expansion packs i need? From what i see, I could have in excess of $400.00 invested. Is there something to key in on telling the specifics? Thanks again for any help.... silverhead
I presume you are using Customtone. I don't know how you can tell in every case but in some cases the name of the amp used in the tone is included in the description of the tone. You would then have to compare with the list of amps included in the expansion packs. However, before purchasing the expansion packs I would download and experiment with tones that do not need the expansion packs. I think you will find that the quality of the tones is very variable, and that there may not be many that you actually like. I wouldn't buy expansion packs just to try out some tones in Customtone. You may want to purchase them later but I would get more familiar with what the device can do without them first.
