Jauk
Hey Guys, just a short question concerning the POD HD500X: I know that there is a maximum of 8 FX to run simultaneously but is it for example possible to run 2 different (or the same) overdrive stomp boxes behind each other ?The reason i'm asking is, I have a PODX3 live, and there is no way tun run for example a pitch shifter and an overdrive one after the other because they are in the same group of effects, know what i mean?In case that this is possible on the HD500X I'll consider to get one. I also tried the new helix board (no doubt that you can do it on the helix, i mean you could possible do anything you can think of with this one) but it that case i would also pay a lot of stuff i would never need.I'm using these multi effect boards for FX only and as a kind of central controller in my rig. Also a reason to get a new one is because the FX loop of the X3 live is very poor, i mean there is a quite big signal loss anyway as soon as the X3 is in the signal chaine but it also has some advantages, so...However, thank you! Yes, that can be done easily.
Jauk
hi,thanks for your quick response. Sounds good, so just to make sure, I could also set all 8 effects to some delays for example ? Julian
silverhead
Yes - you have full flexibility in FX selection including using the same type of model or even the very same model many times. The only limitation is the DSP limit of the device. You could probably not, for instance, line up 8 Spring Reverb models because that is a heavy DSP hog. Jauk
ok, sure there is a DSP limit... but yeah, thank you!
Jauk
Hi,yes, the 4 seperate effect loops of the helix are in fact not bad! But i think i could manage it with the one from the HD500X. Anyway, thanks for the advice. Only one thing; do you guys know if there is something new to come within the next few months ? Beside the helix stuff, is there a "HD600" supposed to come out? Is it worth waiting for something or am I safe to get the HD500XCheers, Julain

Nobody knows if there's something else imminent in the POD HD product line, except Line 6 and they don't announce product updates in advance. It's never worth waiting for something new unless it's already been announced. If you like a product for what it does today, buy it. And if you don't like it now don"t buy it based on some unfounded future expectation.
