jbrown3429
So, we have some great tones set up on our lead guitar players Helix. But, we've also found some amazing patches online. I know how to assign numerous SINGLE patches to a single foot switch. But, is there a way that one can essentially assign an ENTIRE group of patches to a single foot switch? For instance...most of what our lead guitar player does is use the Helix for FX only...no amp, cab, IR emulations...he runs it into a regular amp. However, there ARE some groups of patches where the designer has used amp and cab emulations that sound absolutely amazing! How can I take all the FX AND amp/cab emulations and assign them to a single foot switch...is that even possible?
silverhead
Players typically use different presets or snapshots for this purpose. Each individual tone that you downloaded is its own preset. Use the Helix edit program to organize these (and all) presets on your Helix device so that they are stored in banks of 4. Then set the up/down footswitches to move between banks and set the display to show/assign a row of footswitches to Presets (see global settings). Then you use the up/down switches to navigate to the desired bank and the preset switches to select, with one foot tap, one of the four presets in that bank. If you want to use snapshots rather than individual presets you can do so (read the snapshot sectoin in the manual). You will be limited by the Helix DSP capacity in terms of how many amps and FX blocks you can use in any preset.
