gtrnstuff
Got my Helix about a year ago, Jan of 2016. I just re-read the manual 2.0 and didn't see anything, except the MIDI CC#64 option. Just wondering if it's possible to use an external footswitch and assign to tap tempo. The built-in Helix footswitch is starting to be unreliable. Even with firm taps and full release, tempo doesn't always match what I tap. At least it still works for tuner mode. There doesn't seem to be a MIDI clock option yet, but I may be able to use an old TC footswitch to send CC taps. But that will mean another wall wart and MIDI cable. Thanks for any help. tagmusenmagnus1
MIDI is the only solution, that would work. But if the on board switch is dying, you could probably get it fixed under the warranty.
jbuhajla
It's probably not your switch. Do a search on "tap tempo" in this forum. It's the way that the firmware is averaging the taps that makes it inconsistent. We are hoping that a future firmware update will make it more accurate. MIDI is your only option for external control .
