Low-latency DSP and USB recording, How to set the usb input level to work with VST

Hello Everyone

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I used to own a RP500 and it was  also a Audio interface like this is supposed to be. The RP500 had a adjustment

that allows you to set the level so only the VST software would be herd.

I have been trying to get a good level with the Line 6 Firehawk FX

If I set guitar input to 50% you can still hear the guitar clean coming from Firehawk FX and the VST in live playing.

If I set the Guitar level lower like 10 or 20 then I loose input on the VST software and the distortion cleans up and I don't get the full sound.

So I am confused.

There is got to be a level that send all the input to USB computer only and you shouldn't hear the guitar coming out of the Firehawk Fx at all.

RP500 works great

Zoom  G5N also works like that. It worked great.

If this doesn't work like that then this is false advertisement . Then its not a true Audio interface. All audio interfaces has proper level settings.

I just sold my Presonus because I thought this is a audio interface.

I came from 8 years of using an RP1000 and I'm currently recording my first project using the Firehawk.
I have overall output at the FH set to about 60% and the guitar output is set to 55%.
Havent touched the 'input' but I'll check it later for you.
Works like a charm. No clipping and the tracks have a nice full tone.

Can you hear your Guitar as a clean double. I hear the guitar clean when I'm on a distortion vst in live mode. I also have record monitor off.  I turn the Line 6 on and I go to new sound, Everything is off and the amp sound setting I bring it down to 50 to 60%

The guitar I tried at 50% and overall sound to 50% I still hear the chugging of the strings clean when the speaker is doing the distorted sound. With my RP 500 you couldn't hear the guitar until you loaded up a track with new vst and it had a good hot input meaning the distortion was like a Mesa Boogie on steroids.

With the Line 6 the guitar sounds like a Marshall with half gain. No balls when needed. Now if I turn the guitar input up to 75% its sounds really good but the guitar is bleeding over a lot.
