Pretty new around here.. been just pluging into my Helix and running stereo 1/4" out into my TascamUS1800 for my DAW.. should I be doing it this way or using the Helix and putting my monitors out of the Helix? Is there a difference? The one reason I'm not is because of recording vocals I'd have to switch the speakers around to the Tascam constantly.. right?? Any help would be appreciated! THANKS! DunedinDragon Posted June 3, 2017 Share Posted June 3, 2017 That's definitely one of the limitations of the Helix LT not having a Microphone input like it's bigger brother. Without the Mic input you more or less would have to run the Helix into your audio interface to streamline your workflow for recording. Alternatively you could connect an unbalanced line out into a receive port of the Helix so you're using the Tascam simply as a mic input into the Helix then use the Helix as your audio interface. A little bit convoluted, but that would allow you to run the monitors from the Helix as well as use the Helix to process vocals into the DAW.
