airman2001 Posted September 28, 2017 Share Posted September 28, 2017 I just got the Helix. Has 1.06.5 firmware. Tried to update to 2.21, and it constantly fails. Saying to reboot and try again. So I then tried the reset... 8 and 9 held down while turning on unit. Now... all I get is a small rectangle, inch wide by 3/8 tall scrambled flashing on the screen. BrokenGravity Posted September 29, 2017 Share Posted September 29, 2017 I had the same problem. My helix was defective, I ended up exchanging it for a new one. My best advice before exchanging it is: Try a different computer (took me 3 different computers before it worked) Try a different usb port try a different usb cord make sure the usb is plugged directly into the motherboard unplug all usb devices except your mouse and the helix and then update (this worked for me) try a manual install, log into the helix in offline mode or use upload a file option. Download the firmware update from the forums and then try uploading it with this method make sure you follow the install firmware instructions EXACTLY Best of luck.
